Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicine The Medical Director, Neuroscience – US Medical Affairs is responsible for the medical strategy and integrated evidence plan for Spravato (esketamine) and performs the full range of Medical Director activities for the asset. The role leads the Integrated Evidence Team (IET) for Spravato, ensuring a strong, strategically aligned scientific strategy and its execution through evidence generation and impactful dissemination. The role works closely with partners across US and Global Medical Affairs, RWV&E, R&D, Biostatistics, and Commercial teams. If you are a strategic problem solver energized by shaping the medical strategy for a differentiated treatment in mood disorders, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. You will be responsible for: Lead the coordinated medical strategy and the Integrated Evidence Team (IET), including development and maintenance of a current, strategically aligned, annually updated Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (IEGP). Provide medical review and approval for Spravato medical, scientific and promotional content as a Medical Affairs reviewer. Represent Medical Affairs on the Spravato Label Working Group and Safety Management Team, contributing medical judgment on labeling and safety. Coordinate collaboration with cross-functional partners, including MSL team leaders, RWV&E, Field V&E, Strategic Customer Group (SCG), Marketing brand teams, Medical Information, and other Commercial and IET partners. Manage the Spravato publication plan and support development of abstracts and manuscripts as an author or reviewer, with a focus on efficacy, outcomes and safety analyses. Serve as the SME across the organization for projects, external communications, and other efforts as needed Support payer-related materials and evidence needs to advance market-access efforts. Serve as Study Responsible Physician/Scientist for esketamine (ESK) studies conducted within Medical Affairs—including Phase IIIb/IV, post-marketing requirement studies, registries, real-world evidence, and collaborative studies—providing study design, protocol development, statistical analysis planning, medical/data monitoring, and overall medical oversight. Contribute to regulatory submissions and interactions with Health Authorities (particularly the FDA) for Spravato, and help ensure post-marketing commitments are efficiently satisfied. Build and maintain effective relationships with key opinion leaders and investigators who help shape the Spravato scientific narrative. Requirements: MD, DO, PhD, PharmD or NP degree required At least 8–10 years total healthcare-related experience (academic clinical research, clinical practice and/or pharmaceutical industry). Medical Affairs experience is required Experience in clinical trial design (Phase IIIb & IV) and clinical data interpretation is preferred; evidence of strong scientific writing and analytical thinking is essential. Experience interacting with healthcare professionals and KOLs is preferred. Strong ability to build alignment, lead through collaboration and organizational influence, and drive execution across diverse partners Proven track record to influence decision-making across functions and organizational levels Other Up to 20% travel (primarily domestic, with limited international) is required. Additional Description for Pay Transparency: The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
