Position Title: Medical writer II/ Editor

Work Location: Remote

Assignment Duration: 12 months

Work Arrangement: Remote

Position Summary: The Editor is responsible for ensuring editorial accuracy, brand consistency, and message alignment across multiple our organization products and client campaigns. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong editorial judgment, and the ability to work across a variety of digital deliverables including research summaries, eNewsletters, email campaigns, and social media content. The ideal candidate is meticulous, deadline-driven, and skilled at working in fast-paced, review-heavy environments.

Note: We are looking for two candidates with flexible hours. These positions will begin as part-time for approximately 2 months and transition into more full-time roles as the coverage is needed for an employee on maternity leave and as business increases. Once the full-time editor is back from maternity leave, hours may fluctuate again between part-time and full-time, but we cannot fully predict the workload at this time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit research article and medical journal summaries for Center of Excellence websites and eNewsletters.

• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with our organization and client editorial standards.

• Conduct word-for-word reviews against client-approved or provided materials for digital assets such as email campaigns, landing pages, banner ads, and social media ads.

• Verify that all content is consistent with client-approved messaging and adheres to our organization/house style or client-branded guidelines.

• Review and confirm that all editorial changes from MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) review are correctly implemented.

• Curate and select medical articles featured on Center of Excellence sites, in collaboration with contracted Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), for inclusion in eNewsletter campaigns.

• Perform final word-for-word comparisons and functional link testing on HTML versions of content to ensure they match client-approved PDF files and are error-free prior to launch.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in editorial, copyediting, or medical communications preferred.

• Strong knowledge of editorial style guides and digital publishing standards.

• Experience working within regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, pharma, medical education) is a plus.

• Excellent grammar, spelling, and fact-checking skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems (CMS); experience with Workfront or similar project management tools preferred.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities.

• Commitment to maintaining high editorial standards under tight timelines.
