Medical Information Specialist Location: Remote (United States) Department: Clinical Operations Reports To: Director Contact Center Operations or Medical Information Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Join Our Team Med Communications is seeking a detail-oriented and scientifically focused Medical Information Specialist to join our Medical Information team. The Medical Information Specialist is expected to demonstrate expertise in assigned pharmaceutical products and devices and utilize this expertise to respond to inquiries from Health Care Professionals through the appropriate exchange of scientifically accurate, focused, and balanced scientific knowledge. Consumer inquiry support may also be required with some clients. What You'll Do Medical Information Support As our Medical Information Specialist, you will: Respond to unsolicited verbal and written medical information inquiries from healthcare professionals and consumers in a prompt, accurate, and compliant manner. May provide after-hours medical information coverage. Thoroughly and accurately document cases in the medical information database consistent with operational procedures. Create and review custom response letters consistent with company operational procedures. Provide medical information support through multiple venues, including virtual presentations and medical meeting booth coverage. Meet or exceed service levels and targets for internal and external customers. Safety, Quality & Compliance Collect and report adverse event data to drug safety departments within required timeframes. Collect and report product complaint data to quality departments within required timeframes. Comply with all guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Maintain an active role in the Quality Assurance process. Apply regulatory and compliance guidelines to scientific information exchange. Scientific Knowledge & Collaboration Demonstrate ongoing scientific and business expertise relevant to therapeutic areas, including products, disease state management, emerging therapies, and competitive landscape. Participate in scientific training, as appropriate, to support assigned brands. Mentor new hires or staff changing support areas. Participate in training new hires or staff changing support areas. Identify new opportunities for client-related services. Interact and collaborate with other departments within the company. Perform other duties as requested. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Advanced health professional degree or relevant equivalent clinical experience. Above-average attention to detail. Ability to multitask. Ability to interact with other departments within the company. Proficiency in email and verbal communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to quickly learn new software. Demonstrated proficiency in drug information communication and management. Ability to apply regulatory and compliance guidelines to scientific information exchange. Preferred Qualifications PharmD preferred. One to two years of related experience.
