Job Description - Medical Records Specialist - UMSA ADMIN (2300020A) Job Description Medical Records Specialist - UMSA ADMIN - ( 2300020A ) Description USFTGP Taleo Facility Profile: University of South Florida Tampa General Physicians (USFTGP) was created through an advanced affiliation between The University of South Florida and Tampa General Hospital to provide advanced care to patients and their families throughout Florida. Specialties include cardiology, endocrinology, hepatology, organ transplantation, pediatrics, primary care, neurology, OBGYN, neurosurgery & orthopedics. This is an entry level position that performs and demonstrates proficiency in all activities related to maintaining the integrity and acquisition of medical records. Assembles and maintains medical records as requested in a timely manner and provides the medical record or patient information to the requesting area. Assures confidentiality of patient records in matters pertaining to disclosure of patient treatment and medical diagnosis, to include filing, retrieving medical records, corresponding with physician, clinical staff and other USFPG personnel. Understands the flow of medical records in paper and electronic form. Should have full knowledge of policies and procedures involving the confidentiality and release of patient information. Qualifications High school diploma required. 1 year of medical records or insurance claims and billing experience required. Knowledge of terminal digit filing systems and IDX BAR System required.
