Location: MEX general Office (CDMX) MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES The MSL – Hospitals (Infectious Diseases) is a field-based, non-promotional Medical Affairs role for the anti-infectives portfolio. The MSL leads peer-to-peer scientific exchange with hospital-based specialists and generates medical insights, with a central focus on appropriate antimicrobial use, antimicrobial stewardship, healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), while preserving a clear separation between medical and commercial activities. Scientific Exchange & Insights Deliver updated, balanced, non-promotional scientific information (clinical, microbiological, pharmacological/PK-PD, epidemiological, pharmacoeconomic) to hospital-based HCPs and key stakeholders. Generate, document, and communicate high-quality medical insights from the field to inform the medical strategy of the assigned portfolio. Engage on antimicrobial stewardship, appropriate use, HAIs, and AMR, contextualized to local resistance epidemiology and institutional needs. KOL & Stakeholder Engagement / Medical Education Develop and maintain relationships with KOLs, academic centers, and medical societies; identify and develop rising scientific talent (potential investigators and speakers). Map and engage the hospital multidisciplinary ecosystem: ID services, ICU/critical care, emergency departments, clinical microbiology laboratories, hospital pharmacy, and infection-control committees. Prepare scientific materials (with Medical Manager approval) and support congresses, medical events, and educational programs; keep local experts' content accurate. Clinical Research (Support / Facilitation) Support investigator and site identification, ISR proposals, and local publication input; collaborate on pharmacovigilance activities including RMP and PASS, and on inspection readiness. Study ownership, timelines, and budget remain with the responsible research function. Cross-Functional, Medical Information & Compliance Partner with the Medical Manager and stakeholders on treatment algorithms, guidelines, and care pathways; provide reports/metrics aligned with medical objectives. Interact closely with Medical Information and the Drug Safety Unit (adverse-event follow-up and scientific dossiers). Comply with training curricula and participate fully in the Inspection Readiness Process; act in full compliance with Pfizer policies (FCPA, GPIHP, PIGO). PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Internal: Medical Manager & Medical Department, Medical Information & Pharmacovigilance, Training, Business Technology (BT), Corporate Affairs. External: KOLs; physicians (Infectious Diseases, Intensive/Critical Care, Emergency, Internal Medicine); clinical microbiologists; hospital pharmacists & stewardship/infection-control committees; hospitals and institutions; medical societies; payers. REQUIRED SKILL SET Infectious Diseases (key competencies) Antimicrobial stewardship principles and programs (PROA/ASP); antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and local resistance epidemiology (cumulative antibiograms). Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and infection-control committees; antimicrobial PK/PD in critically ill and emergency patients. Interpretation of clinical microbiology data (identification and susceptibility) and diagnostic stewardship; familiarity with relevant guidelines (e.g., IDSA and local). Technical & Professional Up-to-date knowledge of local regulations; fluency in English (written and spoken); ability to prepare and deliver scientific presentations and to teach/train. Knowledge of scientific, ethical, regulatory, and legal aspects of research in human subjects; MS Office and omnichannel engagement; project/budget administration literacy. Education Medical degree (required). Specialty training strongly preferred in Clinical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, Intensive/Critical Care Medicine, or Emergency Medicine (target profile for this vacancy). Experience More than 2 years of experience as a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) or in other field-based Medical Affairs positions, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry. Field medical engagement with hospital-based HCPs, KOLs, societies, academic centers, and institutions; knowledge of the hospital / anti-infectives setting preferred; experience in project and budget administration.
