Membership Coordinator

Supporting the Aerospace Community Through Exceptional Member Engagement AIAA is seeking a Membership Coordinator to support and strengthen the member experience through customer service across our global community. This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused and detail-oriented professional who enjoys building relationships, improving processes, and helping members stay connected to the aerospace industry. Reporting to the Director, Membership, this role plays an important part in delivering a positive member experience through responsive service, accurate reporting, and effective membership engagement initiatives. What You'll Do Provide exceptional customer service by responding to member inquiries via phone, email, and mail Process membership joins, renewals, upgrades, and status changes accurately and efficiently Coordinate member anniversary and recognition programs Generate and track monthly membership Key Indicators and identify membership trends Coordinate monthly membership renewal process, including invoice generation and mail house coordination Maintain and update member records, including merging duplicate records and processing membership transitions Assist with onboarding outreach for Young Professional members and follow-up communications with lapsed members Help improve member resources by updating FAQs and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) Provide feedback on the member experience across AIAA platforms, events, and digital tools Support membership recruitment and retention campaigns in collaboration with internal teams Contribute to a collaborative team environment and assist with additional projects as needed What You Bring Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience At least 1–2 years of relevant professional work experience, association experience preferred but not necessary Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record management Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal direction Strong collaboration and teamwork skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with Association Management Systems (AMS) preferred Familiarity with community software platforms Flexibility to support high-volume work periods and occasional travel as needed Why Join AIAA: Comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical (PPO and HSA plans), dental, and vision) Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, holidays, parental leave, and bereavement 403(b) retirement plan with up to 5% company match Short-term & long-term disability coverage Education benefits and professional development opportunities A hybrid work environment (two in-office days per week, three remote) Ready to Help Shape the Member Experience?
