VRS is hiring an MEP Estimator for a leading mechanical contractor in Chicago. You will work remotely from Jordan on their US Central hours, estimating HVAC and plumbing scopes on live American projects.
The work
You will take a set of mechanical drawings and specs and turn them into a priced, defensible number. Duct and pipe takeoff with all accessories, plumbing rough-in and fixtures, material and labour pricing, and the sanity checks that stop a bid going out wrong. You will sit inside their pre-construction process, not on the edge of it, and your estimates go into real tenders.
Who this is for
You have spent at least three years doing this specific job. Estimation, quantity surveying, tendering, however your company labelled it, the daily output was takeoffs and priced BOQs for mechanical scopes. You can open a drawing set and work without someone walking you through it. You know your way around takeoff software and you live in Excel.
You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, and your English is strong enough to sit on a call with an American project team and follow the pricing conversation.
Who this is not for
Design engineers, site engineers, MEP project managers and maintenance engineers who have priced a few things along the way. Not a knock on that work, it is just a different job and the client has been clear about what they need.
The offer
- Full-time, remote from Jordan, working 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM US Central Time, which is 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM Jordan time. Salary discussed at the screening call and it is competitive for the Jordan market on a US contract.
