Microsoft 365 Migration Engineer (German Market)
Location: Remote working with regular German travel
Contract Length: 6–12 Months
Travel: Approximately 2–3 trips to Germany per month

A leading international organisation is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Migration Engineer to support a programme of IT integration projects across Germany following business acquisitions.
Working as part of a wider integration team, you'll take ownership of the technical delivery of Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, helping to standardise newly acquired businesses into a common IT environment.
This is a hands-on engineering position suited to someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with customers and users, and delivering high-quality migrations from discovery through to completion.
The Role
You'll be responsible for planning and executing Microsoft 365 migrations, assessing existing environments, and ensuring users experience a smooth transition with minimal disruption. Working alongside project managers and wider infrastructure teams, you'll provide technical expertise throughout the migration lifecycle.
Regular travel to customer sites across Germany (typically 2–3 trips per month) will be required, with the remainder of the work carried out remotely, with some weekend working.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end Microsoft 365 migration projects for newly acquired organisations.
- Assess existing Microsoft 365 environments and produce migration and integration plans.
- Execute mailbox, OneDrive, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams migrations using BitTitan / MigrationWiz.
- Perform tenant-to-tenant migrations while maintaining security, compliance and data integrity.
- Support hybrid and on-premises to Microsoft 365 migration scenarios.
- Troubleshoot migration issues and provide hands-on technical support before, during and after cutover.
- Create technical documentation, migration runbooks and knowledge articles.
- Work closely with project managers and infrastructure teams to deliver projects on schedule.
- Ensure successful handover into BAU support following project completion.
- Contribute to the continual improvement of migration processes, automation and technical standards.
Required Experience
- Strong commercial experience delivering Microsoft 365 migration projects.
- Proven experience using BitTitan / MigrationWiz for tenant-to-tenant Microsoft 365 migrations.
- Strong understanding of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, identity synchronisation and hybrid environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and end-user support skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across international teams.
- German language skills will be essential, English would be beneficial.
