Microsoft SQL Server Administrator (Infrastructure Administrator)

Currently, our team consists of around 1,000 specialists. Within the Digital Platform Services department, our teams specialize in areas such as cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup or storage, as well as networking and security. We also have 1st line support consultants who speak French and English, but also Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German. The Application Services department is responsible for areas such as software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM and ERP platform integrations, as well as application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK. We are looking for an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Administrator (Infrastructure Administrator) to join Sopra Steria Polska to cooperate with a team for our French client. Note that we can only offer cooperation to people are located in Silesian area and are willing to commute to our office in Katowice. Responsibilities:​ Administer and maintain Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server environments. Perform system patching, upgrades, and security-related activities. Manage backup and restore processes and support infrastructure migration projects. Automate operational and administrative tasks using Ansible . Monitor infrastructure and ensure the stability and availability of production environments. Troubleshoot and resolve incidents as part of 2nd Line Support , in line with SLA requirements. Manage user accounts, access permissions, and secure access to IT services. Implement, test, and support new infrastructure solutions and system enhancements. Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures. Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure services and projects. Identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement within the IT environment. Contribute to effort estimations, technical assessments, and infrastructure-related project activities. Tech stack on the project:​ Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Windows Server Automatization (Ansible) Patching Backup/restore Migration Must have requirements:​ Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration and support Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible Proven experience in patch management and system maintenance Hands-on experience with backup and restore procedures Experience in planning and executing system and database migrations Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and incident management Experience providing 2nd Line Support in enterprise environments Understanding of security best practices, user access management, and compliance requirements Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis Experience working within SLA-driven environments Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and technical teams Ability to create and maintain technical documentation English on min.
