Job Description Summary The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a Skill Bridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member’s suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. Job Description Responsible for overseeing supplier relationships, ensuring part health through order coverage and lead time management. Collaborates with buying and contract performance management functions to drive procurement process forward for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, manages negotiations and commercial deal strategy, and drives daily management of supplier issues. Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for progressing the activities of supplier selection, proposals and quotes, quote analysis, negotiation, business approvals, supply award, and contract authoring Manage relationships internally and externally to drive PO execution. Partners with supplier team and procurement operations to ensure compliance requirements for owned sourcing and procurement activities. Accountable for ensuring supplier order health so that contracts are not running out of quantity and time and are renegotiated in accordance with Sourcing policies and guidelines Leads analysis of accounts payable discrepancies to drive timely reconciliation Leads projects related to part procurement, or technical changes on parts requiring supplier engagement and support Brings forward creative contractual solutions to promote contract performance / total cost of ownership Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility. Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Working within broad guidelines and policies, roles at this level have moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of evaluative judgment. Required Qualifications Active Military personnel on their last 180 days of Military service Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Sourcing & Buying-Procurement experience) Minimum of 3 years’ experience – Supply Chain Management and Sourcing experience Ability to travel (< 15%) Desired Characteristics Commercial skillset - negotiations, supplier management, and commercial strategy Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
