ML Engineer / Data Scientist

ROLE OVERVIEW CCS Medical is building out a centralized Data & Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) and needs a Machine Learning Data Scientist to design and deliver scalable ML solutions across Analytics, Operations, Marketing, and IT. The ideal candidate blends strong statistical/mathematical expertise with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, within a regulated healthcare environment (HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Extract, clean, and analyze large structured and unstructured datasets Design, build, and optimize machine learning models and predictive systems Perform feature engineering, data preprocessing, and model evaluation Identify patterns, trends, and opportunities within data to drive business decisions Develop data stories and present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders Build dashboards and visualizations (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) Collaborate cross-functionally with Analytics, Operations, Marketing, and IT Enhance data collection processes to improve data quality and usability Ensure data integrity, compliance, and confidentiality (HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, etc.) REQUIREMENTS / MUST-HAVES Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning Strong proficiency in Python or R, and SQL Experience building ML models (classification, regression, clustering) Strong foundation in statistics and mathematics (regression, probability, linear algebra) Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, matplotlib, etc.) Strong communication skills and proven ability to solve business problems with data Preferred: big data tools (Hive, Pig, Spark); Scala, Java, or C++; experience in regulated industries (healthcare, insurance)
