Multi-site Dermatology Group Seeks Mohs Scheduler in Manchester, NH Optima Dermatology is recruiting a full-time Mohs Scheduler to join our growing Dermatology group in Manchester, NH. Position Summary The Mohs Scheduler is a specialized member of the Patient Services team responsible for coordinating all aspects of Mohs surgical scheduling and related procedural appointments. This role ensures seamless surgical coordination, comprehensive patient education, and accurate documentation while supporting providers, clinical teams, and patients throughout the surgical journey. The Mohs Scheduler demonstrates advanced knowledge of Mohs procedures, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience through clear communication, accuracy, and proactive coordination. Key Responsibilities Surgical Scheduling & Coordination Schedule Mohs surgeries and related reconstructive or follow-up appointments in alignment with provider templates and clinical guidelines. Coordinate multi-step surgical appointments, including same-day closures, pathology coordination, and post-operative visits. Optimize surgical schedules to ensure efficiency and appropriate case distribution. Manage cancellations, reschedules, and urgent add-on cases in collaboration with providers and leadership. Patient Education & Communication Provide detailed pre-operative instructions and education regarding Mohs procedures. Review procedural expectations, timelines, and post-operative care instructions with patients. Serve as the primary point of contact for Mohs patients prior to surgery. Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy, escalating clinical concerns appropriately. Insurance & Authorization Management Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations for ASAP Mohs procedures and related services. Ensure referrals are received and documented prior to surgery. Communicate financial responsibility estimates when applicable. Clinical & Administrative Support Complete pre-operative chart preparation and ensure all required documentation is present. Coordinate pathology reports, surgical consents, and medical clearances as needed. Collaborate with clinical staff to confirm readiness for upcoming surgical cases. Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system. Quality & Compliance Audit surgical schedules and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies. Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to enhance patient experience and operational effectiveness. Team Collaboration & Role Modeling Partner closely with providers, medical assistants, and leadership to support surgical operations. Serve as a subject matter resource for Mohs scheduling processes. Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong patient-centered communication at all times. Qualifications Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in medical scheduling or patient services; dermatology or surgical scheduling experience preferred. Prior experience coordinating Mohs procedures strongly preferred. Strong understanding of insurance verification and prior authorization processes. Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage high-volume, detail-oriented scheduling. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in EMR systems, scheduling platforms, and Microsoft Office programs. Demonstrated alignment with Optima Dermatology’s mission and organizational values. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Full Time, hourly position, schedule designed to meet business demand needs Professional office/home office environment Sedentary work: requires prolonged computer use, often requires stationary position, sitting or standing for prolonged periods.
