LOCATION: Chattanooga, TN, or remote in the East Coast or Central Time in the USA PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Chalmers Center for Economic Development is seeking a Monitoring and Reporting Specialist to support the development and maintenance of program and project tracking systems, data collection, ensuring high data quality, and producing timely, high-quality reports for internal management, applied learning, donors, and key stakeholders. Working under the supervision of the VP of Products and Strategic Initiatives (PSI) and in coordination with the department of Listening & Applied Learning (L&AL), this role ensures that all programmatic and strategic activities are systematically tracked against key performance indicators and metrics. Essential to the work will be a passion for equipping churches and local organizations to serve the materially poor in ways that promote dignity, reduce dependence, and create opportunities for transformation. RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitoring & Data Collection Systems Management Participate in the development of a monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) system in coordination with the Product & Strategic Initiatives and the L&AL teams Manage and maintain of program and project monitoring systems, including maintenance of project monitoring plans, indicators tracking tables and operational dashboards Design, test, and deploy standardized data collection tools such as surveys and digital data forms based on logical frameworks Provide technical support and training to Chalmers’ staff and partner organizations, when necessary, on data entry guidelines and tracking protocols When necessary, conduct site verification visits and/or data audits to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness. Reporting & Communication Draft, edit, and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports for internal leaders and departments, donors, partners and external stakeholders. Synthesize raw operational data into clear summaries, charts, and visual dashboards to highlight achievements, progress and bottlenecks. Coordinate with the PSI team and other teams to collect success stories. Ensure all reporting adheres strictly to internal quality standards, donor guidelines, reporting templates, and compliance timelines. Data Management & Quality Assurance Manage metric databases, ensuring secure data storage, back-ups, and user access control Perform regular data cleaning, routine validation checks, and data quality assessments Identify tracking gaps or data collection errors and implement corrective action plans. INTERDEPENDENCIES: PSI units: US Economic Development Programs, Majority World Economic Development Programs, Foundational Products, and the Innovate Listening & Applied Learning IT Global Strategic Partnerships Curriculum and Training SUPERVISES: None QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 3 years of experience in MEAL, project management related to social services, data analytics, public health information systems, or related field Proven competency in monitoring, database management, and technical report writing Work experience in domestic social service projects and/or in International Relief and Development Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Management, Social Sciences, International Development Studies, or a related field. Proficiency in mobile data collection platforms, e.g. KoboToolbox, ODK, CommCare, Survey CTO or another Strong working knowledge of Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts), and data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau or Power BI. Experience managing log-frames, indicator tracking matrices, and donor reporting templates. Strong written communication, analytical thinking, high attention to detail, and ability to translate complex data into accessible reports Strong theological alignment with the Chalmers Center’s vision for biblical poverty alleviation Availability to travel internationally when required (less than 10%).
