Mortgage Advisor

We are currently looking for an experienced Mortgage Advisor to join our Perspective (North West) team remote. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge in providing clients with first class advice in line with the FCA regulations, ensuring a brilliant service. Location: Home Based Hours: Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm with a one-hour break (35 hours) Salary: Competitive dependant on experience and qualifications. Available upon request. • Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to explain complex information clearly and simply. • Strong communication skills; and the ability to ask appropriate questions of clients. • Good analytical skills, money management skills and planning skills. • Enthusiasm and willingness to assist clients. • Ability to manage own workload. • Flexible/adaptable to cope with change. • To be motivated, friendly and professional at all times; and provide impartial unbiased advice. • Excellent time management to ensure appointments are scheduled with realistic time frames. • Act in a professional manner when dealing with colleagues/stakeholders. • Ability to work as part of a Team; collaborating with the local team; and across the wider business as appropriate. • Detailed understanding of the advice process. • Detailed understanding of the mortgage and protection market. • Detailed understanding of products and solutions to meet client needs. • Up to date knowledge of the financial market place. • Good understanding of regulatory requirements; including Consumer Duty requirements; GDPR; and anti-money laundering requirements. The key responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Provision of mortgage advice. • Assessing the client’s financial position, understanding their needs and recommending a mortgage solution which is appropriate to the circumstances. • Provision of advice on protection products. • Assessing the client’s financial position, understanding their needs and recommending a protection solution which is appropriate to the circumstances. • Ensuring all advice is provided in line with the requirements of the FCA including focus on consumer duty requirements and ensuring compliance with all other relevant industry rules and regulations. • Cultivating the client base and building relationships. • Driving organic growth/generation of new clients. • Keeping up to date with industry developments; new products, technical or legislative changes within the mortgage and protection marketplace; and researching the market to ensure that knowledge is current • Ensuring compliance with all requirements of a certified function holder. • Ensuring CPD is completed on a rolling 12-month basis to the required standard and is sufficient and appropriate for the areas in which you are certified to provide advice and kept up to date at all times. • Maintaining performance standards in accordance with Consumer Duty outcomes and those outlined in the Key Performance Indicators section of the Training and Competence procedures. • Holding and maintaining the appropriate qualifications to be able to undertake the role (CeMap or equivalent). • Ensuring compliance with all requirements of an FCA certified function holder. • Ensuring CPD is completed on a rolling 12-month basis to the required standard and is sufficient and appropriate for the areas in which you are certified to provide advice and kept up to date at all times. • Maintaining performance standards in accordance with Consumer Duty outcomes and those outlined in the Key Performance Indicators section of the Training and Competence procedures. • Ensuring that SPS via a recognised body is maintained at all times. • Assessing the client’s financial position, understanding their needs and recommending a mortgage solution which is appropriate to the circumstances. • Keeping up to date with new product, technical or legislative changes within the mortgage marketplace.
