Role Description This is a full-time Motor Damage Claims Handler role based in Dublin, offered on a hybrid basis with some work from home flexibility. The Motor Damage Claims Handler will manage motor damage claims from initial notification to settlement, ensuring accurate assessment, timely processing, and high-quality customer service. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and reviewing documentation, liaising with policyholders, brokers, repairers, and third parties, and negotiating settlements within agreed authority levels. The role involves monitoring claim progress, updating case management systems, managing recoveries where applicable, and working closely with legal and cost teams when claims become litigated. The successful candidate will contribute to process improvements, uphold regulatory and compliance standards, and support the overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the claims function.

• Experience in motor damage claims handling or general insurance claims, with strong knowledge of motor insurance products and claims processes.
• Ability to analyze claim information, assess liability and quantum, and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for dealing professionally with policyholders, third parties, repair networks, and legal representatives.
• Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
• Comfort with using claims management systems and standard office software, and willingness to learn new digital tools.
• Understanding of relevant Irish insurance regulations, data protection requirements, and best practices in claims handling (or willingness to develop this knowledge).
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating with colleagues in-office and remotely while maintaining high performance standards.
• Professional qualifications in insurance (such as CIP or equivalent).
• Prior experience in the Irish insurance market and familiarity with recovery actions and legal cost processes are beneficial.
