Our Values Anti-racism • Boldness • Equity • Rooted in Community Position Overview The mission of the Multicultural Fellowship Program is to equip emerging leaders with the experience, knowledge, and network to create an equitable Bay Area. The Power Pathway leads the Foundation’s efforts to ensure that Bay Area residents have a strong political voice and can shape the decisions that impact their lives and communities, specifically by supporting community-based organizations to build the power needed to win governing power. Its funding priorities are: Advance a Power-Building Infrastructure to uplift the capacity and influence of our movement through strategic partnerships and collaborative endeavors Develop a Deep Bench of Transformational Leaders inside and outside of local government to move a shared agenda towards collective power Promote a Multiracial Democracy that centers our communities hopes and dreams through the sustained civic engagement of a working-class base A successful Fellowship candidate for the Power Pathway will have significant understanding of and experience related to at least one of the above-listed priorities. Key Responsibilities Support programmatic activities, including research, strategy development, outreach to prospective grant applicants, proposal review, due diligence, site visits, grant recommendations, grantee communications, and progress reporting Build and maintain authentic relationships with grantees, community and movement leaders, funders, and other key partners by sharing information, facilitating connections, problem-solving, and coordinating resources Lead or contribute to special assignments which may include outreach, meeting planning, communication with constituents, project implementation, and partnership development Coordinate and support convenings, which may include grantee mixers, briefings, coalition meetings, and other events, that foster learning, build trust, and promote transparency between the Power team and internal and external partners Conduct research, monitor emerging trends, and practice, and share insights with SFF colleagues and external partners through written materials, presentations, convenings, and other communications Support fundraising efforts through research, presentations, and written reports Collaborate across Foundation departments—including Philanthropy and Gift Planning, Grants Management, Finance, Marketing and Communications, and the Office of the CEO—to support cross-functional initiatives and organizational priorities Conduct outreach, evaluate grant proposals, perform due diligence, and develop grant recommendations for Rapid Response Fund for Movement Building Provide administrative support including scheduling, meeting coordination, agenda development, and documentation Authority & Reporting The role sits within the Community Impact department. Reports to: Power Pathway Senior Director Partners most closely with: Power Pathway team Qualifications & Competencies 3-5 years of relevant professional experience Strong writing and editing skills Experience conducting research and synthesizing information into actionable insights Strong organizational, project management, and administrative coordination skills Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder needs Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills High attention to detail and quality control across work products Ability to work independently and in team environments across diverse groups Technical abilities and skills Intermediate to advanced computer/software skills, including Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Teams) and Zoom. Familiarity and interest in A.I. Ability to learn, navigate and manage online platforms, including Fluxx, Qliksense, Smartsheet, Salesforce. Compensation & Benefits The San Francisco Foundation offers a competitive total compensation package, including base pay aligned with organizational budget size and comprehensive medical and fringe benefits. Learn more about our compensation philosophy and benefits on our career page. Position Pay Rate Year 1 (non-exempt): $54.10/hr. Remote Work Policy This position follows a long-term hybrid work model. Dedicated to its employee health and safety, The Foundation will continue to make decisions in accordance with San Francisco County and California mandates. Employees must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area and work in the office a minimum of one day per week. Physical Requirements This role is primarily sedentary and performed in a hybrid or remote office environment. It requires prolonged computer use, virtual communication, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 lbs.).
