About the Role UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is recruiting a National Contact Point (NCP) Cluster 6 - Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and the Environment, part of Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe. Based within the Horizon Europe Engagement Team in UKRI International, the role will be responsible for delivering support for UK-based participants in the Cluster 6 Work Programme and the Ocean and Soils Missions. As a recognised expert, the NCP for Cluster 6 provides authoritative advice, guidance and practical support to UK potential applicants, beneficiaries and funded projects across the full project lifecycle. The post supports delivery of Cluster 6 NCP services on behalf of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). Responsibilities span awareness-raising, training, stakeholder engagement, policy monitoring and collaboration with the wider European NCP network. The role involves regular engagement with UK partners and European institutions, contributions to communications and briefings, and requires excellent communication and networking skills, confidence presenting to diverse audiences, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities Provide expert guidance and support to UK organisations across all sectors to help them understand and participate successfully in the Cluster 6 Work Programme and the Missions Work Programme within Horizon Europe and future EU Framework Programmes, in line with European Commission NCP principles. Manage a diverse and largely self-directed portfolio of work, balancing intelligence-gathering, reporting and stakeholder services, including supporting development of successful proposals, to deliver high-impact, added-value support to the UK research and innovation community. Deliver outreach and engagement activities using a range of channels, including events, webinars, briefings, online resources, newsletters and one-to-one support. Work closely with NCP counterparts across Member States and Associated Countries to maintain strong collaborative relationships. Monitor and interpret EU research and innovation policy developments, analysing and sharing timely, high-quality intelligence with UK partners. Work closely with UKRI Councils, DSIT and key partner bodies (such as sector representative organisations and academics) to provide tailored insights and policy support relating to Cluster 6 and the Soil and Oceans Mission. Contribute actively to the Cluster 6 NCP Coordination and Support Action (CSA), delivering agreed activities and outputs. Operate as a core member of the UKRI Horizon Europe Team, collaborating across UKRI and DSIT to support joined-up delivery and initiatives to boost UK participation in Horizon Europe. Personal Specification The below criteria will be scored during Shortlisting (S), Interview (I) or both (S&I). Essential Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience (S). A strong understanding of the UK and European research and innovation funding landscape, with experience supporting or enabling engagement in EC Framework Programmes (S&I). Ability to demonstrate initiative, think creatively and analytically to explore new ideas, investigate complex of ambiguous issues and develop clear well-reasoned proposals and practical solutions. (S&I). Experience of developing or delivering projects, demonstrating sound project management and organisational skills (S&I). The ability to multi-task, work flexibly and to plan, prioritise and manage delivery of a diverse portfolio of project and activities with different timescales priorities and delivery mechanisms, working individually and as part of a team (S&I). Strong written and oral communications skills, including the ability to interpret and present information to a wide range of audiences, with clear and concise messaging and provide advice suitable for senior executives and decision-makers (S&I). Ability to work constructively within and across organisations and with people of all levels and internationally to build provide relationships and effective partnerships (S&I).
