This Network Engineer role is part of an exciting, high paced Infrastructure Engineering team, providing support escalation for internal customers and supporting internal and production network at both Data Centres, Cloud Platforms and remote offices. You will report directly to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager in a newly formed SME team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day stability, improvements, network related projects and controlled changes of ParentPay Group's Internal and Production networks across multiple sites and datacentres. As a Subject Matter Expert within the Infrastructure Engineering team, you will use your knowledge and skills to ensure we maintain SLAs targets for our systems and our customers. You will take a security-first approach to systems and ensure any vulnerabilities reported are resolved within agreed SLAs and timeframes. This is a hybrid role based in our Coventry office. Key Responsibilities Deploy, maintain and improve network infrastructure including Cisco switching, firewall, wireless and SD-WAN technologies, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient and aligned to business requirements. Support vulnerability remediation, network security improvements and compliance activities across the infrastructure estate. Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support and act as an escalation point for Service Operations, Infrastructure Engineering and other technology teams. Participate in infrastructure projects and contribute to the design, implementation and support of new network services and technologies. Identify opportunities to improve our service to our customer base, so that SLA's are exceeded, and customer feedback is consistently high. Aid colleagues both within and outside of the Engineering team for any issues related to our application and platforms. Develop and enhance network monitoring, alerting, observability and capacity management processes to proactively identify and resolve issues. Plan, implement and document infrastructure changes in accordance with ITIL-based change, incident, problem and risk management processes. Create, maintain and regularly review technical documentation, operational procedures and network diagrams. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Strong Cisco Networking skills (Switches, Firepower(FTD), Wireless LAN Controller) - CCNA or equivalent. Strong understanding of network security principles, firewall management, vulnerability remediation, VPNs, access control and secure network design. Good extended network administration experience, Load balancers, VMWare, Hyper-V, WAN, WLAN, and LAN configurations, network problem solving. SDWAN Experience (Juniper SSR) Excellent understanding of all DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP Experience delivering infrastructure projects alongside operational support within an ITIL / change-managed environment. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to interpret fault descriptions provided by customers or internal escalations and translate these into resolutions Experience working with third-party network providers and managing vendor escalations through to resolution. Ability to create and maintain high-quality network documentation, operational procedures and support handover material.
