Network Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Network Engineer to work fully remotely for our client, a European institution based in Luxembourg.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable network infrastructures across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Architect and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure remote access.
• Lead network and security projects involving routing, switching, wireless, and data center technologies.
• Perform threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.
• Automate operational tasks and network management processes using Python, Ansible, Shell Scripting, and Docker.
• Provide technical leadership, Level 3 support, and best-practice guidance for infrastructure and security operations.
  
  

Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Security, or Infrastructure Architecture roles.
• Strong expertise in enterprise routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VPNs, and WAN/LAN architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, Sophos, Forcepoint, pfSense, Juniper, MikroTik, or similar security platforms.
• Proven experience with cloud networking and security in AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
• Experience with virtualization and infrastructure technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, and Linux environments.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, Fortinet FCP/NSE, ISC2, or equivalent are highly desirable.
