People Inc. is looking for a remote News Updates Editor to write timely content for The Spruce Home. Successful candidates for this position should be passionate and knowledgeable about lifestyle and home content, and should have morning availability in the Eastern Time Zone . Assignment Responsibilities: We are looking for editors who can commit to at least 10-20 hours of work per week. The rate of pay for this role is $26/hr. Applicants must live in the United States. Pitch and write timely news content for publication on The Spruce Home. Submit stories on a tight deadline, preferably on the same day they were assigned. Skills/Experience: At least 2 years experience writing/editing home or lifestyle media , preferably for a news publication or magazine Comfortable with internet research and creating/tracking Google alerts Skilled in sourcing subject matter experts and conducting interviews Journalism experience required Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to adopt an established brand voice and adhere to style guidelines Comfortable with content management systems Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently, independently, and accurately Comfortable working remotely Access to a smartphone, computer (not a tablet), and a secure internet connection An interest in lifestyle writing About Us: People Inc. is the largest print and digital publisher in America.
