Newscast Producer

News Producer/MMJ WXLV is seeking a News Producer/MMJ to join our morning news team. This hybrid position is designed for someone who wants hands-on experience in news production, shooting, editing, field reporting and content creation across television and digital platforms. The News Producer/MMJ will help produce the station’s morning newscasts while also contributing to daily news coverage, digital content and occasional on-air reporting. Primary Responsibilities • Produce segments for WXLV’s morning newscasts by writing scripts, building rundowns, coordinating video and graphics, and booking interviews • Write clear, accurate and compelling news stories for on-air and digital platforms • Shoot, write and edit news stories, interviews and features independently or with guidance from senior staff • Conduct interviews with newsmakers, community leaders, experts and other news subjects • Occasionally front news stories or live shots on-air • Assist with field production and live shots • Shoot and edit video for daily news coverage and feature stories • Edit video packages, reporter packages, VOs, VOSOTs and other content using non-linear editing systems • Assist with coverage of breaking news, major events and community stories • Contribute timely news content for digital platforms, including the station’s website and social media • Help develop original story ideas and enterprise content for the morning newscast • Work closely with anchors, reporters, photographers, producers and managers to execute daily coverage • Assist in promoting WXLV’s news coverage across station and personal social media platforms EEO AND INCLUSIVITY: Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
