Next.js & Payload CMS Engineer

Job Description This is a remote position. We're looking for a full stack developer to join a project team building a multi-tenant platform in Next.js and Payload CMS, launching alongside a major international sporting event. You'll own a defined workstream, either the platform foundation or the content modules built on top of it, working from an existing specification and conventions document. Setup and configuration of Payload CMS collections, custom fields, and access control Work with a multi-tenant architecture and design token system across different brands Collaboration with a small team via async check-ins and two weekly syncs Implementation based on a written specification and conventions document Requirements Experience with Next.js, TypeScript and Payload CMS or comparable headless CMS Good working knowledge of Postgres (schema design, migrations, query performance) Comfortable working independently and communicating proactively when blocked or behind Fluent written and spoken English Advantage: Experience with Shopify Storefront API and Scaleway or comparable European cloud Benefits Start: September 2026 Workload: 40–60% Duration: September–October 2026 (extension possible) Location: Remote, based in Switzerland Salary: based on experience
