The Role EPM is growing, and we are seeking a Non-QM Underwriter to join our team. You’ll be responsible for analyzing and underwriting residential mortgage loans that fall outside traditional agency guidelines and issuing clear, well-supported underwriting decisions. What You'll Do Review and underwrite Non-QM loans including Bank Statement, 1099, DSCR, Full Doc, and Self-Employed borrower profiles. Analyze complex income documentation including personal and business tax returns and bank statements. Evaluate credit, income, and collateral to determine loan eligibility. Issue clear underwriting decisions and communicate required conditions effectively. Work closely with brokers and internal teams to clarify documentation and guidelines. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards. Additional responsibilities related to business needs. What You Bring High school diploma required; college degree preferred. 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience required. Recent experience in Non-QM and wholesale underwriting required. Knowledge of Non-QM, Jumbo, and residential loan products. Strong understanding of income analysis, compliance regulations, and appraisal review. Proficiency with Encompass LOS and AUS systems preferred. Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills. Technologically savvy and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
