Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatry & Psychology - Supplemental

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and caring Nurse Practitioner to join a dedicated multidisciplinary group. The successful candidate will serve a vital function in the Department of Psychiatry & Psychology at Mayo Clinic Health System providing supplemental overnight coverage to the inpatient psychiatric units in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Mankato, Minnesota; and Albert Lea, Minnesota. Responsibilities will include reviewing referrals for admission for acceptance or denial, placing admission orders, responding to on-call questions, and managing existing inpatients. The scope of work will involve working as an integral team member of a multidisciplinary team working with social work, nursing, advanced practice providers, and physicians. This is a remote position and a psychiatrist will be available to comply with licensing requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate interest and comfort in working with patients with psychiatric illness. During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question – Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps. New Grads will not be considered at this time. Must have 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner. Nurse Practitioner: Masters or Doctorate-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program with Current Wisconsin and Minnesota RN and APRN licenses and certifications . Preference given to candidates with a PMHNP (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification). Must have current BLS certification and be eligible for DEA registration. Additional Qualifications: Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills. Demonstrated leadership ability. Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs. Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
