Description Credentialing Specialist (Remote) Compensation: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour Location: Remote (U.S.) Job Type: Full-Time, Benefits Eligible Minimal travel required. Occasional travel to the corporate headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina may be required based on business needs. Join Our Team as a Credentialing Specialist Are you an experienced healthcare credentialing professional who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment? We are seeking a highly organized Credentialing Specialist to manage provider credentialing, privileging, reappointments, and clinician onboarding activities. This role is critical in ensuring providers meet all credentialing requirements and are prepared to deliver care across assigned hospital programs. What You'll Do Provider Credentialing & Privileging Manage the complete credentialing and reappointment process for assigned clinicians. Review applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy. Verify provider credentials, including education, training, licensure, certifications, work history, peer references, and other required documentation. Monitor application progress and proactively follow up to ensure timely completion. Maintain ongoing communication with clinicians throughout the credentialing process. Coordinate with hospital Medical Staff Offices to support credentialing and privileging timelines. Track key hospital committee and board approval dates to ensure providers are approved and ready to practice as scheduled. Support credentialing activities for locum tenens and per diem clinicians through coordination with staffing agencies. Provider Records Management Maintain accurate electronic credentialing files and provider records. Collect, organize, and manage credentialing documentation. Track state licenses, DEA registrations, certifications, malpractice coverage, and other regulatory requirements. Monitor expiration dates and ensure timely renewals. Maintain provider information in internal databases, CRM systems, SharePoint, and credentialing platforms. Enroll providers in National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) Continuous Query and maintain related records. Clinician Onboarding & Operational Support Coordinate hospital orientation schedules and onboarding requirements. Communicate training and hospital-specific credentialing requirements to clinicians. Participate in internal implementation and operational meetings to provide credentialing status updates. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support provider enrollment and onboarding activities. Assist with reporting, audits, and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of healthcare credentialing experience . High School Diploma or GED required. Strong understanding of provider credentialing processes and industry standards. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment. Knowledge of healthcare credentialing standards, including: NCQA Joint Commission (JCAHO) NPDB guidelines State licensing and regulatory requirements Preferred Qualifications Associate degree preferred. Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification preferred. Experience within a Medical Staff Office. Experience using QGenda or similar credentialing software. Understanding of medical terminology. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
