ABOUT ALETHEUM
Aletheum is a South African technology and data company. Small business, big data: we build and run the systems — ERP support, analytics, cloud infrastructure — that let mid-sized organisations operate as intelligent entities. From January 2027 we become the single technology partner to a growing manufacturing and distribution group in the healthcare sector, and this role is the on-site heart of that service.
THE ROLE
You are the embedded engineer: the single walk-up point for every IT issue at the client’s primary site, five days a week. You give the first response on every ticket — you log it, judge its severity, and either fix it or route it to the specialist behind you. Behind you sit a remote Dynamics 365 team, a network and security specialist and a senior escalation bench. In front of you sit roughly sixty users who will know you by name. To them, you are the service.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Run the on-site service desk: walk-up and ticketed support for desktops, laptops and mobile devices, printers and peripherals, and meeting-room AV
• Give first response on every ticket: log, triage, assign severity and start work within contracted response times — critical incidents acknowledged within one hour
• Administer Microsoft 365: joiners, movers and leavers; mailboxes; Teams; SharePoint permissions; licence assignment for new starters
• Maintain endpoint standard builds, patching compliance and asset tagging on every device you touch
• Keep the asset register current; run the on-site loan-device pool, hardware receiving, swap-outs and warranty returns
• Be the on-site hands for the remote team: network fault diagnosis under the network specialist’s direction, and Dynamics 365 user assistance under the D365 team’s direction
• Attend the weekly stand-up with the client’s Service Owner, and keep ticket data clean — it drives the monthly service report
• Work securely: MFA on everything, least-privilege access, credentials in the managed vault — never in tickets or email
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
• 3–5+ years of end-user IT support in a Microsoft environment
• Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration: Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint; Intune or similar endpoint management strongly preferred
• Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, DNS and DHCP, print services
• Ticket discipline and clear written English — your tickets become the service record
• A walk-up-friendly temperament: patient, visible, unflappable at month-end
• A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport, based within commuting distance of the site
• Advantageous: CompTIA A+ or Network+, MD-102, MS-900
WHAT YOU’LL GET
• A seat in a small senior team that also builds analytics, AI and cloud systems
• Market-related salary, reviewed annually
CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT
Background screening — identity, qualifications and, with your consent, criminal record — is a condition of appointment; our client contract requires it before privileged access is granted.
