Online Module Lecturer - Psychology Reference number: JR258370 Location: Remote Contract Type: Freelance Salary: Competitive We are seeking independent freelance contractors with expertise in Psychology and experience in Higher Education to deliver postgraduate online modules for students studying with the University of Liverpool Online. Successful candidates will also receive Honorary Recognised Teacher (Online) status from the University. In this role, you will support and guide students in a fully online learning environment, helping to deliver an engaging and high-quality academic experience. Role Responsibilities: Module Lecturer As a freelance module lecturer, you will: Deliver online teaching sessions Facilitate discussion forums and student engagement Hold virtual office hours Respond to academic queries and student communications Mark and moderate formative and summative assessments Provide constructive, high-quality feedback Support students in achieving their learning outcome. Dissertation Advisor (where applicable) Supervise and support postgraduate dissertation students. Advise on research design, methods, analysis, and academic writing. Support research ethics applications and student progression. Provide timely, developmental feedback to facilitate successful completion. Requirements: Essential Criteria PhD in Psychology Experience of teaching at postgraduate level. Ability to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and engaging learning experiences. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and student success. Higher Education teaching qualification and/or Advance HE Fellowship (FHEA/SFHEA/PFHEA) and/or PGCE (or equivalent) or substantial experience of teaching in higher education. For Postgraduate dissertation advisor applicants : Experience of supervising, advising, or supporting postgraduate research projects and dissertations. Ability to guide dissertation design, methodology, data analysis, and academic writing, research ethics and ethical approval processes. Experience of providing constructive and developmental feedback to support student achievement. Strong knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods. Evidence of scholarly activity and/or a developing research profile commensurate with career stage. Experience Teaching in Higher Education (e.g. seminars/tutorials). Online teaching using platforms such as Zoom or Teams. Use of virtual learning environments (VLEs). Assessment marking and moderation in HE. Providing constructive, relevant feedback to support student learning. Assessing ethical approval applications ( for postgraduate dissertation supervision only). Skills Ability to deliver engaging online teaching Effective communication and explanation skills Ability to support and motivate students Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback Confidence in managing online delivery challenges Ability to encourage student participation and interaction Desirable Criteria A record of research, scholarly activity, or industry experience.
