WHAT’S THE JOB? This temporary full-time co-op opportunity runs for 14 weeks, from September to December 2026, supporting our Remote Service West operations. The role is primarily remote, although candidates located near our Calgary, Alberta office may occasionally be required to attend in-person meetings or other in-person activities. The position follows standard 40-hour weekdays. The Operational Analyst Co-op Student will work directly with the Remote Hospitality Services West team to analyze operational and financial data to identify efficiencies, cost drivers, and savings opportunities. You will turn data into actionable insights that support better decision-making across food services, logistics, fuel, and project operations. Key Responsibilities: Operational & Cost Analysis Analyze operational and financial data to identify cost drivers, trends, and opportunities for efficiencies across operations. Perform comparative and trend analysis (e.g., period-over-period, cross-site) to uncover performance gaps and anomalies. Analyze labour productivity metrics to identify improvement opportunities. Develop productivity benchmarks and performance models to support continuous improvement initiatives. Performance & Financial Insights Support analysis of revenue, costs, and overall performance across sites or service lines. Connect operational activity to financial outcomes, translating data into meaningful business insights. Translate productivity improvements into cost savings and margin enhancement (EBITDA impact). Partner with Finance to understand P&L drivers and support pricing and commercial estimation using productivity benchmarks. Reporting & Data Management Build and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and trackers to support consistent visibility into operations. Standardize key metrics and reporting approaches across datasets and business areas. Identify opportunities to improve data quality, structure, and usability. Leverage advanced Excel and analytics tools to model operational and labour performance. Apply generative AI tools to enhance insight generation. Continuous Improvement & Business Support Translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations that improve operational efficiency and cost performance. Support process improvements, pilot initiatives, and tracking of outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations & Finance) to validate insights and support implementation. Act as a trusted analytical partner to Operations leaders, communicating insights to both operational and executive audiences. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Currently enrolled in a Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Data/Analytics, or related program. Must be a college or university student and planning to return to academic studies upon completion of the co-op work term. Skills & Attributes Experience or coursework in financial or operational analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced Excel, Power BI, or dashboarding experience preferred. Comfortable working with large datasets and operational reports. Demonstrated ability to leverage AI to support data analysis. Strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Nice to Have SQL or data querying experience. Interest in hospitality, logistics, or multi-site operations. Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platform. Experience with OneStream or similar corporate performance management software.
