What You’ll Do As part of Avalara's newly unified TCO Enablement function, you'll shape how Customer & Product Readiness capability is built across our global GSO/CX and Brazil teams, partnering directly with Customer Leadership and Product Managers to define what 'good' looks like as our teams and customers adopt new products. Reporting to the TCO L&D Director, you'll be the strategic bridge between internal enablement and, for the first time, our external customer academy, meaning your work shapes how both our own people and the customers we serve learn to succeed. Unlike a narrower L&D role focused on a single audience, you'll operate across an expanded, cross-functional remit spanning Support, Compliance, and Engineering teams in Brazil,US & EMEA giving you the scale and visibility to make a lasting impact on CSAT, NPS, and customer transformation outcomes. We are looking for a Bar-Raiser who holds a high standard for enablement quality and coaches others to the same bar, and who applies AI as a core part of how they work to scale impact across a growing portfolio. What Your Responsibilities Will Be Day to day, you'll lead L&D strategy and delivery for GSO and CX, running technical and compliance training covering tools like Salesforce, NetSuite, AvaTax, and SAP Connectors, while building out the customer academy/external education portfolio and clearing its delivery backlog. You'll conduct Training Needs Analyses, translate findings into commissioned learning interventions, and choose the right delivery method, whether coaching, job-shadowing, or digital/blended learning, to close capability gaps. You'll also own Brazil's English-language capability building, partner with Brazil GSO leadership on engagement initiatives and team-building sessions, and track budgets, KPIs, and training metrics to report progress to stakeholders. You will use AI tools day-to-day to accelerate training needs analysis, curate and localize content, and synthesize completion/NPS/impact data, sharing what works so peers across the TCO Enablement team can raise their own standards too. What You'll Need to be Successful At least 4 years of experience in a Learning & Development role spanning multiple functions or business areas, with strong personal and time management skills to juggle a broad, fast-moving portfolio Experience designing and delivering learning interventions using methods such as coaching, job-shadowing, or blended/digital learning Experience coordinating and influencing project teams and stakeholders across multiple departments Fluency in Brazilian Portuguese, with experience facilitating cross-cultural, multilingual training and communication Hands-on experience using AI tools in a previous role to improve the speed, quality, or scale of learning and development work, with the ability to describe specific, measurable examples A demonstrated track record of raising the performance of those around you through coaching, feedback, and consistently high-quality delivery Avalara is an AI-first Company AI is embedded in our workflows, decision-making, and products.
