Job Title: Outbound Pharmacy Technician Job Description The Patient Care Coordinator is essential in assisting patients throughout their treatment journey. This role involves coordinating medication deliveries, managing refill requests, and ensuring patients have the necessary supplies for their therapy. The position requires proactive engagement with patients and caregivers, processing orders, maintaining accurate documentation, and close collaboration with pharmacists, nurses, providers, and internal teams to deliver exceptional patient care and service. Responsibilities Initiate outbound calls to patients and caregivers to schedule medication deliveries and verify supply needs. Build and maintain strong patient relationships by providing compassionate, responsive, and professional customer service. Support medication adherence efforts by monitoring refill schedules and identifying potential gaps in therapy. Document and escalate patient-reported side effects, concerns, or adverse reactions to the appropriate clinical team. Verify insurance benefits, coverage, and payment options to facilitate order processing. Coordinate with pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare providers to ensure patient needs are addressed in a timely manner. Enter, process, and manage new prescription orders and refill requests within multiple workflow systems. Maintain accurate patient records and perform data entry throughout the entire order fulfillment process. Track and update order statuses, shipment information, and delivery confirmations. Ensure all patient orders are processed accurately and within established service-level timeframes. Pick, package, and prepare medications and medical supplies for shipment when working onsite. Confirm delivery completion and maintain accurate delivery documentation. Collaborate with intake teams and physician offices to obtain information needed for successful order processing. Utilize Microsoft Excel and other systems to support workflow management, reporting, and operational efficiency. Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Work effectively within a team environment while providing support to teammates and contributing to department goals. Demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Previous Specialty Pharmacy experience, preferred Bilingual Previous call center experience Work Environment This is a hybrid role with a balance between remote and onsite work. Initial training can last between 2-6 weeks and is conducted onsite for 2-4 weeks minimum before transitioning to a hybrid schedule. The position requires 2 days onsite in Elk Grove Village and allows for 3 days remote work based on performance. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 6 pm, with training/onboarding from 8:30 am to 5 pm. This role offers a good work-life balance by operating in a hybrid model. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
