See more at www.myelement.co.uk Buyer Job Description This is a part time and flexible position to support and enable to growth of Element Packaging. (Can be full time depending on applicant's qualifications and experience.) We are looking for someone who will strengthen our supply chains, develop relationships with suppliers and improve operational efficiencies. This role will be a mixture of working from home and office days in our London office if needed. Requirements Packaging Buyer Responsibilities: Identifying opportunities to diversify supply chains and seek new opportunities. Manage new and existing relationships to reduce costs and ensure supply chains are robust and consistent. Ensure that Element is at the forefront of product innovation in terms of design, materials and quality. Working closely with the sales team to ensure that products are available at the right time at the right cost and meet our internal as well as our client’s quality requirements. Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing. Critical path management – ensuring products are available in a timely manner for both product launches and day to day business. Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production and optimum delivery into our logistics partners. Create Purchase Orders, book logistics, generate shipping documents and organise overall international logistics. Receive product specifications from the sales team and obtain quotes from manufacturers. Packaging Buyer Requirements: Have extensive supply chain and purchasing experience, ideally within the food or packaging sector with ambitions to progress to Head of Procurement in near future. Strong negotiation skills and the drive to spot new opportunities which will drive unique value for Element Packaging. Great communication and interpersonal skills for working within our team and with our external partners.
