What you'll do In this role you will define, maintain, and continuously develop packaging specifications and technical packaging standards, ensuring that regulatory and sustainability requirements are translated into clear and practical technical criteria You will take over the technical requirements and intended-use responsibilities established through PPWR implementation and integrate packaging requirements into product development, change management and product lifecycle processes Working closely with Procurement and Product Management, you will provide the technical basis needed to tender, select, and source compliant packaging and trading goods, while also assessing existing solutions and recommending robust technical adaptations where needed As the central technical expert for packaging materials, technologies, performance, and recyclability, you will support packaging-related Ecodesign and ESPR activities and help prepare the organization for emerging lifecycle requirements Cross-functional collaboration will be essential to move specifications from concept into implementation and to standardize packaging technologies where this creates compliance, cost, or operational benefit Who you are Y ou have several years of experience in packaging engineering, packaging development, materials science, industrial engineering or a comparable technical field, combined with a strong understanding of packaging materials, systems and industrial packaging applications Strong ability to translate regulatory and business requirements into precise, practical technical specifications and to understand their impact on sourcing, manufacturing, product development, and compliance A structured engineering mindset allows you to balance technical quality with feasibility and commercial realities in a pragmatic way You are comfortable working across multiple plants, suppliers, product categories and international stakeholders, and you communicate technical complexity clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences You are fluent in English, additional languages are an advantage, and you enjoy taking a hands-on approach to drive technical requirements through to implementation What we offer you We all shape our lives individually.
