Part-Time Construction Inspector Remote - Central / South Florida The successful applicant will join a highly motivated conservation team dedicated toward accomplishing Ducks Unlimited’s (DU) mission. Applicant will assist a regional team deliver wetland, riparian, and associated habitat restoration projects in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. The successful applicant will: (1) serve as DU’s representative on construction projects, while performing a variety of inspections to verify contractor’s compliance with plans, specifications, and standards; (2) prepare inspection reports and maintain project records; (3) be responsible for the operation of various surveying equipment to assist with construction surveys; (4) assist Regional Engineer(s) and other Technician(s) with a variety of administrative duties. The position is remote but the successful applicant must be based out of Central to South Florida. Qualifications: Knowledge of methods and techniques of project administration, construction inspection and materials testing. Knowledge in heavy construction work methods, practices, materials and equipment. (10 years minimum experience the construction field required). Experience and knowledge in construction surveying techniques, including GPS and the ability to assist in both design and construction surveys. Demonstrated ability to work with public and private conservation partners. Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to operate ATV and outboard boats in various environments. Self-motivated and goal oriented. Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, willingness to work independently, willingness to travel out of town and overnight on a regular basis, ability to work in inclement weather, and ability to work with minimal supervision in remote work environments.
