possible openings
as a part-time faculty member in the
Health Information Management
program
.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.
The instructors
primary responsibility would be visiting students weekly at an assigned clinical site(s)

During the academic
year
part-time faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 11.5 ESH (equivalent semester hour) per semester and no more than 23 ESH per academic year
.
During
summer
part-time faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 10 ESH (equivalent semester hour) for both sessions combined
.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver planned
curriculum
, answer questions, and conduct evaluations
.
Facilitate student
learning
,
in
online
laboratory
courses
or in lectures
.
Evaluate skill performance and provide feedback to students
in a timely manner
to
monitor
mastery and progress through a course
.
Utilize Blackboard LMS for student contact, curriculum delivery, and student assignments.
Utilize Zoom for live remote course delivery.
Utilize Blackboard learning management
system
.
Follow guidelines from department course coordinators to ensure consistent content coverage and student experience across multiple sections of a course.
Meet established deadlines to
submit
student mid-term and final course grades.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or t
he equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
Two
years
profession
al experience in the discipline
(within
the last
3 years)
.
Must hold current
certification
/
licensure
/registration
, or equivalent in
a health information field
.

Preferred Qualifications
:
Masters of Science degree or higher.
Prior teaching experience in
Health Information Management
program or equivalent teaching and learning coursework.
Active in clinical practice, especially as applicable to clinical skills in the
course
content.
For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).
