Part-Time Middle & High School Substitute Instructor Apply Overview Level Experienced Position Type Always Accepting Applications Job Shift Any Education Level 4 Year Degree Travel Percentage Negligible Category Education Apply Description Openings for 26-27: Middle School/High School Math Sub Middle School/High School History Sub Online instructors for grades 6-12 teach live online courses using Kolbe Academy's curriculum. Responsibilities include conducting live classes, developing lessons and other materials, grading student work, and regularly communicating with students and parents. Kolbe will provide course plans, books, software, and other resources, as well as ongoing support and training, to help instructors to succeed in their roles. Instructors generally work in one department (e.g., math, history) and may teach one or more courses. Responsibilities for Teachers Grade 6-12 • Conduct live classes as scheduled in Adobe Connect • Manage and maintain assigned courses in Schoology (our learning management system) • Design and develop lessons, assignments, and assessments using the Kolbe curriculum • Communicate with parents and students through email and Schoology (M-F except on holidays) • Provide timely feedback and grading on all assignments and assessments • Hold office hours during exam weeks and by request of students • Complete annual initial and ongoing training as assigned • Attend all in-service, department, and grade level meetings as scheduled Qualifications Ideal Candidate: Experience teaching the specific subject in the classroom and/or online Passion for technology and familiarity with online learning Ability to create engaging synchronous lessons Engaging personality Organized and Professional Catholic and Virtuous BONUS: Understanding of Classical/Ignatian Methodology Required Qualifications Classroom teaching experience and/or tutoring homeschool students. Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Master's degree in field or teacher certification (any state). Preferred Previous experience teaching in an online environment. Preferred Job Requirements Complete Kolbe Academy teacher training course. Dedicated work space appropriate for conducting live online classes in a professional manner.
