About Rivero
Established in 2019 and headquartered in Switzerland, Rivero is a fast-growing European company and a Visa Fintech Partner specialising in bringing intelligence and automation to payment operations within the highly regulated payments industry.
We combine innovation and deep expertise to offer best-in-class intelligent solutions for fraud recovery, dispute management, and payment network compliance. We are looking for an ambitious, driven person to join us in the next phase of growth.
What Are We Looking For
We are building a new product: an AI-native, multi-rail payment processing platform. We are deliberately not rebuilding what already exists. Today's processing platforms are opinionated, card-first, and hard to change — ours is being designed from the ground up to let financial institutions integrate and control way more of the payment value chain themselves, on their own terms, and independent of the roadmap of a legacy processor. It is an ambitious goal, and it is early enough that the person joining will be able to shape it.
To get it right, we need someone who has lived the reality of payment processing and network integration, and who can bring that expertise into how we design, specify, test and certify the product.
You understand network specifications, message formats, test scripts, and certification cycles. Over the next 12–18 months leading up to launch, you will own our relationships with payment networks—starting with card schemes—and act as our internal authority on integration and certification requirements.
As the platform expands into additional rails and capabilities, your role will grow and evolve based on your interests and strategic priorities.
An engineering degree is not required, but you must have a strong technical understanding of end-to-end payment processing and the confidence to collaborate closely with engineers and network representatives.
What can you expect?
- You will support feature design and specification, translating network requirements and payment domain knowledge into clear, implementable product specs.
- You will own the relationship with the payment networks, starting with card payments — acting as our main point of contact and our internal source of truth on network rules, mandates, and integration requirements.
- You will lead testing and certification with the networks: planning the process, preparing and running the test cases, and driving it through to sign-off.
- You will take on QA for our payment network integration, defining what correct behaviour looks like and validating that the product delivers it.
- You will work closely with the engineering team building the platform, and with the Domain Experts and Product Specialists across Rivero, so that payment expertise is shared across the company rather than siloed in one team.
- You will keep the team ahead of network releases, mandates, and regulatory changes that affect the product and the roadmap.
- As the platform grows, so will the role — into additional rails and networks, or towards owning delivery projects with our customers.
About You
- 5+ years of payments experience with hands-on exposure to issuing or acquiring processing platforms.
- Strong technical grounding in end-to-end card processing (tokenization, authentication, authorization, clearing, and settlement).
- Proven track record collaborating with card schemes, issuers, acquirers, or processors on network integration, testing, and certification.
- Proficient in translating complex network specifications and technical message formats into actionable product requirements.
- Tech- and AI-savvy, with a drive to leverage modern tools for operational efficiency.
- Self-directed and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional European languages are a plus.
