Job Description This is a remote position. Key Responsibilities Weekly Payroll Processing: Process end-to-end payroll for weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Prepare, review, and file weekly payroll reports, checklists, and supporting documentation. Respond to payroll-related enquiries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner. Liaise with clients to resolve payroll queries and provide payroll support. Monthly PAYG & Superannuation: Reconcile monthly wages, PAYG withholding, and superannuation balances by comparing payroll reports with Xero records. Ensure payroll reconciliations are accurate, and discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly. Support compliance with Australian payroll, taxation, and superannuation requirements. Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for allocated client accounts. Process daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and other balance sheet accounts. Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are correctly coded. Prepare and process journals, accruals, and adjustments where required. General Administrative Duties: Complete ad hoc administrative tasks, special projects, and assisting with process improvement initiatives as required. Maintain and update weekly payroll checklists and client information. Ensure all work is completed accurately and within established deadlines. Assist with maintaining efficient payroll and administrative processes while providing a high standard of customer service. Requirements Key Skills & Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong numerical aptitude with excellent data entry skills. Proven ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines. Comprehensive understanding of Australian payroll legislation and processes, including PAYG tax, superannuation, leave entitlements, and payroll compliance. Demonstrated experience processing Australian payroll accurately and efficiently. Sound knowledge of: Australian bookkeeping and accounting principles. Australian payroll systems and compliance requirements. Australian deductible and non-deductible business expenses . Advanced proficiency in Xero, including payroll, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting. Strong customer service focus, with the ability to build positive relationships and provide responsive support.
