Payroll Officer

Randstad is pleased to be partnering with our client who are a large employer in the mining industry based in the Brisbane Inner suburbs. They are seeking a Payroll Officer to join their payroll team on a permanent basis.

About the role:

Reporting into the Payroll Lead and working in a team environment, your duties will include:

• Importing and analysing time and attendance data received from sites
• Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of fortnightly payroll, including any off-cycle pays
• Maintaining employee records in line with instructions
• Reviewing pay journals and reports to confirm accurate payments to employees
• Understanding and interpreting Enterprise Agreements (EA) and Award provisions to ensure compliance
• Resolving payroll-related queries from HR, line managers and employees in a timely manner
• Following established payroll processes and identifying improvement opportunities
  
  

About you:

• 12+ months experience in a payroll position - ideally in a medium to high volume environment
• Experience using a payroll system
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy
• Full and unlimited Australian working rights
