Job Description About the role: As a key member of the Plasma-derived therapies (PDT) communications team, this role will be responsible for designing and implementing multi-pronged corporate and executive communications strategies to promote the PDT vision and enhance its reputation both internally and externally within the broader Takeda corporate narrative. Collaborating closely with the PDT Leadership Team (PDT LT), the PDT communications team and public affairs, this role will develop comprehensive programming to enhance external engagement and thought leadership in the plasma-derived therapies sector and broader healthcare landscape. This is a hybrid position with an expectation of consistent weekly onsite attendance at our Cambridge, Massachusetts office. Regular in-person collaboration is a key aspect of this role. Fully remote work is not available. What you'll do: Corporate Communication Plan Development and Execution: Lead the formulation and execution of a global corporate communication plan for the PDT BU, laddering up to the PDT BU and Takeda Global Communications and Governance outcomes led priorities. Thought Leadership Initiatives: Design and manage dynamic PDT BU Thought Leadership activations in synergy with communications programming across the PDT value chain, as well as PDT Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy initiatives. Executive Thought Leadership and Engagement: Develop and maintain a comprehensive executive engagement plan and calendar for speaking opportunities, digital communications and media engagements to elevate executive visibility. PDT President Communications: As the key business partner to the President of the PDT BU, develop strategic communication programming to establish and further build his reputation as a thought leader in the global PDT ecosystem. Content Creation and Management: Oversee the production of compelling narratives for distribution across social media, corporate websites, investor forums and traditional media outlets, enhancing external awareness of PDT’s leadership role in the healthcare industry. Act as a consultant to cross-functional teams, providing guidance on storytelling and fulfilling ad hoc communication needs. Partnerships and Collaboration: Foster alignment on communications initiatives by collaborating with Global Corporate Communications and Governance and other stakeholders, promoting an integrated approach to storytelling and digital engagement. Training and Development: Manage ongoing media and speaker training programs for the PDT Leadership Team to ensure consistent and effective messaging. Issues Management: Assist in managing communication strategies for emerging issues, collaborating with PDT Public Affairs, BioLife and other Takeda partners. Performance Measurement: Evaluate communication effectiveness and continuously seek innovative approaches to enhance audience engagement. Vendor Relations : Oversee key external vendor relationships, ensuring strategic alignment and value delivery. A minimum of 10+ years communications experience with a preferred focus on the life sciences. Strategic business partner with the ability to translate business information into language that employees and customer can understand. Strong written and verbal communication skills required, as well as strong interpersonal skills. A natural creative writer who can write clear, compelling narratives customized for various stakeholders. Ability to negotiate and form consensus among various parties important. Experience in the healthcare/bio-pharma industry is preferred. Strong social media experience is preferred. Ability to work directly with senior executives and a proven track-record in developing authentic and inspiring communications. Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects simulataneously. Strong organizational skills accompanied by the ability to multi-task and problem-solve. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment. Team player and self-starter with a positive attitude. For Location: Cambridge, MA U.S. Base Salary Range: $154,400.00 - $242,550.00 The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
