Is this job info correct?
Company Description The Tetra Society of North America engages technical volunteers to design and build customized assistive devices for people with disabilities. These solutions help individuals overcome barriers in the environments where they live, work, and play. By enabling greater independence and work readiness, Tetra’s devices contribute to improved quality of life and community participation. The organization collaborates closely with clients and volunteers to ensure that each device is tailored to specific needs and circumstances. Applicants can expect to join a mission-driven organization focused on practical, person-centered innovation.
Role Description The PEI Chapter Coordinator is a part-time, remote role responsible for organizing and supporting the activities of the Tetra Society chapter in Prince Edward Island. Day-to-day tasks include responding to inquiries from clients and volunteers, coordinating assessments of client needs, and matching clients with appropriate technical volunteers. The Coordinator will schedule and facilitate virtual meetings, track project progress, and maintain clear records of requests, projects, and outcomes. This role also involves promoting chapter services through local networks, community organizations, and online channels, as well as preparing brief reports and updates for Tetra Society leadership. The Coordinator will collaborate with volunteers, clients, and partner organizations to ensure timely, safe, and effective delivery of assistive device solutions.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities, including managing multiple projects, scheduling meetings, and tracking timelines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact respectfully and clearly with clients, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Comfort with remote work tools and basic digital literacy, including email, online calendars, video conferencing platforms, and simple data tracking (e.g., spreadsheets or databases).
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and supporting people with disabilities, ideally through prior work, volunteering, or lived experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, exercise sound judgment, and problem-solve in a collaborative, non-discriminatory manner.
  • Knowledge of or interest in community outreach, volunteer management, or nonprofit operations is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Prince Edward Island community resources and organizations is beneficial.
  • Relevant education or experience in social services, community development, coordination, or a related field is an asset but not strictly required.
