Product Offering: Covering five proven product areas - learning, fleet operations, compliance, voyage planning and performance management - supporting its customers from ship to shore, from training and people operations, to voyage compliance and optimisation. 🧭 Navigating the position: People Consultant The People Consultant role provides strategic and tactical support to business leaders, collaborating with People Business Partners and People Centres of Expertise (COEs) to understand the people and business priorities and scope of work or project- based activity for the People Consultants to work on directly with the business. We see this as a broad generalist role, covering the full spectrum of the generalist portfolio, advising and delivering annual people cyclical activities, responsibility for ER cases, working closely with the Business Partners and COEs to ensure delivery of business and people strategies. This role will form part of a global team with varied and challenging needs. The role holder will need to be able to work across time zones to prioritize activities and manage workload effectively. No two days are the same in this area, with the role holder needing to bring a flexible, adaptable approach, understanding business need, and driving effective change where required. Key Responsibilities Advising leaders on people policies and procedures with an aim on driving self-serve activity Work closely with the Team to ensure business transformation / restructuring projects are planned, implemented and effectively delivered. Providing professional HR advice and guidance on complex business challenges including performance, absence, work conduct issues. Working with the People Business Partners on planning and implementing strategic HR initiatives, providing HR support on project-based business programmes Support on the COEs cyclical activity across the business areas including bonus and salary reviews, talent and succession activity as examples. Support the work with People Directors and CoEs on strategic business planning, D&I principles. Support business change programs, restructuring and M&A. Work collaboratively across the global Consultant Team to deliver operational excellence, work in collaborative way. Drive a continuous improvement culture by using problem-solving, communications, analytics and stakeholder engagement coupled with a pragmatic approach to drive continuous improvement activities. Be adept at workforce management, immigration related matters to advise teams on policies, processes related to every stage of an employee life cycle, from pre-onboarding of an incumbent to separation. Undertake work authorization checks for countries within the region specified, collaborate with Talent Acquisition and People Operations teams as and where needed. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Broad HR knowledge and experience across HR disciplines. Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within organisations and to influence successfully and openly at all levels within OneOcean Strong influencing and communication skills including experience of coaching senior management on a range of people and wider organisational issues. Comfortable challenging senior leaders whilst maintaining positive long-term relationships. Ability to support change in an ever-evolving environment, coaching business managers in managing change Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution, including at a wider global level. Digitally confident, able to work with data and draw insights to support business performance and colleague engagement. Ability to drive and manage a high performing operational team.
