Purpose of the job The People & Culture Advisor plays a key role in providing high-quality, professional people support across designated business areas. The role focuses on employee relations, organisational change, manager coaching and advisory support, people insights, recruitment support and compliance activities. The Advisor will act as a trusted partner to managers, ensuring a consistent, fair and commercially focused approach to people matters while contributing to positive employee experience and supporting delivery of People Plan priorities. Key Responsibilities · Lead end-to-end management of employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance, probation, absence, including occupational health referrals, family leave and flexible working matters. · Provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice to managers and coach them to build capability, confidence and consistency in people management. · Support investigations, hearings and consultation processes, escalating complex or high-risk matters where appropriate. · Lead and support organisational change activities and redundancy consultations, including preparation of documentation and guidance on process and approach. · Use Workday and other people data sources to identify trends in employee relations, absence, attrition and engagement, providing actionable insights and recommendations. · Support delivery of annual people processes including performance, talent, reward and engagement cycles and implementation of People Plan priorities. · Support UK immigration and sponsorship processes, including visa guidance, Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS), visa renewals and compliance monitoring. · Build effective working relationships with managers and leaders and act as a trusted People & Culture Advisor within defined scope. · Support compliance activities including, Subject Access Requests (SARs), visa administration and governance requirements. · Maintain accurate documentation and case records and ensure activities are managed in line with company policy and employment legislation. · Contribute to People & Culture projects, continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of AI and digital tools to improve efficiency, insight generation and quality of outputs. · Support People & Culture Advisor administration, including shared inbox management, SMCR, absence analysis, and EAP new joiner and leaver records. · Administer the monthly payroll process for Kells, managing the full employee lifecycle from onboarding and system set-up through to offboarding and leaver administration. · Partner with the UK Payroll team to ensure the accurate and timely administration of Kells payroll. · Coordinate and administer employee APA qualification examinations on a monthly basis. · Manage employee benefits in Ireland, including Referral Schemes, Car Allowance, Cycle to Work Scheme, Kudos, Travel Allowance, and VHI Health Insurance. · Act as the primary contact for the Central Statistics Office (CSO), providing required data on earnings, hours worked, and employment costs. · Ensure risk register data is kept up to date on decision focus. · Review and update allocated Irish P&C policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current legislation and alignment with P&C strategy and business priorities. · Manage petty cash and maintain accurate records of transactions. · Occasional travel to the Haywards Heath / London office (dependent on base location). · Build strong relationships with Head of P&C Insurance (UK Based) and Sr. Business Partner in Cape Town to ensure alignment of the operational areas across the locations. Key Skills · Strong HR generalist experience within a complex organisation with proven employee relations expertise. · Experience managing end-to-end employee relations cases independently. · Experience supporting organisational change and restructuring activity. · Sound knowledge of employment law and HR best practice in both Ireland and the UK. · Experience coaching and advising managers at varying levels. · Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. · Experience using people data and insights to identify trends and support decision-making. · Experience with HR systems, ideally Workday. · Experience handling sponsorship and visa processes is highly desirable. · Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. · CIPD Level 5 qualified, part-qualified or equivalent experience. · Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy when handling sensitive and confidential information. · Comfortable using AI and digital tools to enhance efficiency, insight generation and quality of outputs.
