We exist to enable every person at Nourish to do their best work and we hold ourselves to the same standard of excellence we expect across the business. This role is a key enabler for the rest of the P&C team, freeing up time and energy for the People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition Partner and People and Culture Director by providing high quality operational support, anticipating what might be needed and showing high levels of initiative. This is not a traditional People Operations role. We are redesigning it from the ground up around what AI makes possible. As People Operations Manager, you will be the engine of our people infrastructure but the heavy lifting of volume, repetitive, and rule-based work will be handled by AI tools (Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and our HRIS automation layer). Your job is to build, oversee, and continuously improve those systems, ensure their outputs are accurate and compliant, and handle the judgment-intensive work that genuinely requires a human. You will also be one of our first non-engineering hire in our Poland Tech Hub, a growing team of 18 people, making you an important local presence and point of contact. If you are someone who sees a manual process and immediately wants to fix it, who is genuinely curious about AI tools, who takes ownership without being asked, has a strong eye for detail and likes working in a close nit team; this role was built for you. Key Responsibilities 1. AI-Assisted People Operations • Own the day-to-day operation of all people processes, using AI tools to handle volume and repetition. • Build, maintain and iterate automated workflows across onboarding, offboarding, contract generation, probation tracking and reporting. • Quality-assure all AI-generated outputs before they reach employees. Accuracy and compliance are your responsibility. • Serve as the in-house expert on AI tool application within People Ops, staying current with what's possible and bringing new ideas. 2. Process Improvement & Automation • Audit, map and continuously improve People Ops processes, proactively identifying manual work that should be automated. • Build and own an improvement backlog; prioritise by time saved and business impact. • Document all workflows and build playbooks for consistent, repeatable execution. • Deliver measurable reduction in manual processing time across the function over each 6-month period. 3. HRIS Ownership & Transition • Own the transition from BambooHR to our new HRIS platform, working closely with the Director of People & Culture, People Business Partners and the vendor implementation team. • Configure and optimise the new system to support automation, reporting, and a strong employee experience. • Ensure data integrity, clean migration, and team capability in using the new platform. 4. Compliance & People Data • Maintain compliance with employment law across UK and Polish jurisdictions, GDPR, and right-to-work requirements. • Own people data quality: ensure the HRIS is accurate, up to date, and audit-ready at all times. • Produce regular people metrics and reporting: headcount, turnover, absence, and engagement data. • Support Gender Pay Gap reporting, ER Act implementation, and statutory compliance requirements. 5. People Operations • Act as the local People Operations point of contact for both the UK and the Poland Tech Hub • Develop working knowledge of Polish employment law and local HR requirements, flagging anything requiring specialist legal input. • Support the Director and Finance and Legal colleagues on the legal entity setup in Poland as this progresses. 6. Employee Experience People Operations is often the first and most frequent touchpoint an employee has with the P&C function. How our processes feel , not just whether they work, matters. • Own the end-to-end employee experience across all People Operations touchpoints, with onboarding as the priority. • Design and maintain an onboarding experience that is warm, well-timed, and makes new joiners feel set up for success from day one, not just administratively processed. • Audit the felt experience of every operational process from the employee's perspective: is it clear, timely, human, and consistent? • Ensure AI-generated communications are reviewed not just for accuracy but for tone, they represent Nourish. • Collect and act on feedback from new joiners and leavers on the operational experience, feeding insights back into process improvement. • Partner with the People Business Partner to ensure operational processes support, rather than undermine, the broader employee experience. What You Bring Essential • Demonstrable experience in a People Operations, HR Operations, or similar role in a scaling business. • Genuine curiosity about AI tools; you have used them, you experiment with them, and you see their potential in an operational context. • A process improvement mindset; you are uncomfortable leaving a manual process alone. You map before you build, and you measure impact. • High accuracy standards; you review AI outputs critically, not at face value. • Strong working knowledge of HR systems, data management, and reporting. • Self-directing; you identify problems and act without being asked. You bring solutions, not status updates. • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. • Ability to work in a high trust, high impact, high performing team Desirable • Experience with HR automation tools or workflow platforms • Familiarity with AI productivity tools; Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar. • Knowledge of Polish employment law or experience supporting a non-UK workforce. • Experience contributing to an HRIS selection or implementation project.
