About J. Lee & Associates Law Group
J. Lee & Associates Law Group is a full service law firm headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, serving the greater Atlanta metro and clients across the United States. We specialize in Personal Injury, Immigration, Criminal Defense, and Family Law. Our mission, Justice and Advocacy for All, drives how we serve a primarily Spanish speaking client base with excellence, integrity, and care. The firm operates internally in English; our client communications are bilingual.
About the Role
We are engaging a detail-driven Personal Injury Paralegal, based in Argentina or a comparable Latin American market, to complete document-heavy PI work during standard firm hours, working alongside our U.S. team. The role turns clear assignments into accurate, source-grounded production and a precise MyCase handoff at the end of each day.
Litigation experience is not required. It is preferred and will strengthen a candidate’s application, but candidates without litigation experience remain eligible if they demonstrate strong PI production, medical-record, document-control, and quality skills.
This is a non-attorney role. All substantive legal work and final case strategy flow through the supervising attorney.
What You Will Do
• Perform structured file audits and identify missing information, contradictory facts, and incomplete tasks.
• Review medical records and prepare accurate, source-cited medical chronologies.
• Identify treatment gaps, prior or subsequent injuries, duplicate records, and incomplete record sets.
• Reconcile medical bills, balances, payments, adjustments, and provider information.
• Prepare demand-package drafts and supporting schedules from verified source materials.
• Organize discovery, production, subpoenas, and assigned litigation-support materials.
• Document what was completed, verified, unresolved, and escalated in a precise MyCase handoff.
• Use approved AI tools only with source verification and firm confidentiality controls.
Ramp and Performance Expectations
• Days 1-30: accurate low-risk production, disciplined MyCase documentation, and security/AI-policy compliance.
• Days 31-60: increased complexity, reliable chronology and reconciliation work, correction retention, and timely escalation.
• Days 61-90: full role performance under the assigned workload, with both output and quality gates active.
Day 90 is a written certification decision, not an automatic pass. Certification requires demonstrated output, quality, documentation, and escalation performance.
Required
This list is non-negotiable. Applications missing any of these will not move forward.
• Hands-on personal injury paralegal, case-management, or document-production experience. Litigation experience is not required for this role.
• Demonstrated skill reviewing medical records and bills and producing concise, accurate written work.
• Professional working Spanish AND strong written and spoken English. English is the firm internal operating language; Spanish is the client language. Spanish is verified live by the Firm Director in the final interview, not self-reported.
• Ability to recognize gaps and contradictions, explain work from source documents, and escalate attorney-controlled decisions.
• Residence in Argentina (preferred) or another Latin American market such as Colombia or Mexico, with eligibility to operate as an autonomous service provider in your country of residence (in Argentina: monotributo or responsable inscripto).
• Reliable availability during standard firm hours of 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday (approximately 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM in Argentina during U.S. daylight time).
• Own laptop, quiet dedicated workspace, reliable internet of at least 25 Mbps down / 5 Mbps up, and a practical outage backup plan.
• Willingness to sign JLA’s service agreement covering confidentiality, IP assignment, and non-solicitation.
Preferred
• U.S. plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience, including discovery or deposition support (preferred, not required).
• Experience with MyCase or a comparable legal case-management system.
• Experience in a quality-controlled legal production or remote U.S. law-firm environment.
Compensation and Growth
• Approved range: $1,500 - $2,500 per month, USD, paid biweekly in USD via Deel. JLA covers Deel platform fees.
• Continuous training on firm systems, PI workflows, quality control, and approved AI tools.
• Successful 90-day certification supports progression toward senior production and quality-control responsibilities; it does not guarantee a fee increase.
Engagement Terms
• Autonomous service provider engagement governed by a written service agreement; this is not a U.S. employment relationship.
• Biweekly USD payment via Deel; JLA covers Deel platform fees.
• The contractor maintains independent-contractor tax registration in their country of residence and is responsible for all local tax, social-security, and health-system contributions (in Argentina: monotributo or responsable inscripto).
• The contractor supplies their own laptop, internet, and workspace and maintains the required ET service-coverage window.
• All work is subject to JLA confidentiality, security, MyCase documentation, and AI-use requirements.
How We Verify
We do not take experience claims at face value. Candidates who move forward complete:
• A structured English screening covering residence and market fit, PI production experience, schedule, fee alignment, and contractor readiness.
• A structured competency interview focused on medical records, chronologies, reconciliation, demands, handoffs, source conflicts, and escalation.
• A timed, sanitized medical chronology and/or bill-reconciliation exercise plus a MyCase-style handoff note.
• A finalist review that includes live Spanish verification by the Firm Director.
• Verification steps permitted by law and approved firm policy, followed by Firm Director approval before any offer.
Litigation experience may improve a candidate’s preferred-qualification assessment, but it is not a pass/fail requirement.
We are filtering for people who can do the work, not people who can describe the work.
