About the Role The Pharmacy Communication Technician (PCT) assists the Pharmacist by adding and updating patient information to the pharmacy’s files. The PCT must be detailed oriented to keep prescription and patient information on the appropriate platforms. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receives inbound calls from providers and patients Answers questions in a professional and accurate manner Forwards calls and work to the appropriate departments Inputs information about patient prescriptions into record-keeping programs Ensures all records are accurate and collaborates with pharmacist to ensure all information is correct Spot checks for errors and discrepancies in data and follow procedure to investigate and correct information Performs duties and responsibilities according to the philosophy and standards of SelectRx including conveying courtesy respect enthusiasm and positive attitudes in work situations with clients peers and visitors Maintains client and associate confidentiality Responsible for understanding all applicable policies and procedures of the department necessary to perform essential job functions as well as the associate handbook Performs other duties as assigned Skills/Abilities: Detail oriented and proven accuracy Efficient and accurate typing skills Aptitude to develop partnerships with teams within the department and across the company Ability to use multiple software programs to review patient profiles and process medication orders Enters and retrieves data from the various operating systems employed for prescription processing drug ordering and packaging High degree of interpersonal and organizational skills Proficiency in reading writing and speaking English is required Certificates/Licenses/Registration: Pharmacy Technician Certification required (PTCB or NHA) Indiana and Pennsylvania State Pharmacy Technician license required, or willing to obtain Physical Requirements: Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safetyand health hazards related to a home office environment. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
