Description ROLE OVERVIEW The Photographer is Meyer's in-house imaging resource, responsible for capturing product, lifestyle, and campaign photography across a high-volume, multi-brand portfolio. Working under the creative direction of the Creative Manager - Studio Art Direction, this role produces the imagery that fuels Meyer's DTC, marketplace, retail, and social channels — shooting consistently, efficiently, and to a standard that reflects each brand's visual identity. This is a production-volume role with a creative eye. The Photographer executes direction precisely, brings strong technical skill to every shoot, and owns the full technical operation of the set — from lighting rig and camera setup through tethered capture management and a clean drive handoff to the post-production team. WHAT YOU'LL DO Photography & Shoot Execution Execute photo shoots across product, lifestyle, and campaign formats — in-studio and on location — working from shot lists and creative direction provided by management. Shoot a high volume of SKUs per collection cycle — maintaining consistent quality, lighting, and styling across large product sets and extended shoot days. Collaborate on set with the Senior Content Producer, stylists, and other crew as needed, staying focused on creative output while production logistics are managed around you. Contribute a strong eye to on-set styling and composition decisions, flagging anything that doesn't read correctly before it becomes a post-production fix. Technical Setup & On-Set Management Own the full technical setup and breakdown of each shoot — camera rigging, lighting builds, grip equipment, and all supporting hardware — ensuring the set is ready to execute management’s direction without technical delay. Manage tethered capture and on-set media throughout the shoot day: maintaining the live connection for real-time review, handling in-progress backups, and ensuring all assets are protected and accounted for from capture to wrap. Perform ongoing technical QC during the shoot — reviewing frames for focus, exposure, and color consistency before moving to the next setup. Culling, Editing & Handoff Cull selects from each shoot, applying editorial judgment to identify the strongest frames that fulfill the shot list and creative brief. Apply color grading and Lightroom edits to selects — correcting exposure, white balance, and color to a consistent, on-brand baseline that prepares files for post-production processing. Deliver organized, clearly labeled drives to the Post Production Manager following each shoot, with selects flagged and edit settings applied — enabling a clean, efficient handoff with no ambiguity. Equipment Ownership & Maintenance Own the inventory, maintenance, and operational readiness of all in-house camera bodies, lenses, lighting equipment, grip hardware, and accessories — flagging repair needs or replacements proactively before they affect production. Stay current on equipment capabilities and make informed recommendations to the Creative Manager when gear additions or upgrades would improve output quality or production efficiency. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 3+ years of professional photography experience with a portfolio demonstrating strong product and lifestyle work — consumer goods, housewares, or CPG experience preferred. Technical command of studio lighting — strobe, continuous, and mixed — including lighting builds from scratch, modifier selection, and real-time adjustments across changing setups and product types. Hands-on experience managing the full technical operation of a shoot: camera rigging, grip equipment, tethered capture setup, and on-set media management. Proficiency in Lightroom for culling, cataloging, and color grading; solid understanding of RAW file management, tethering software (Capture One or equivalent), and on-set digital workflow. Comfortable with high-volume production: able to maintain quality and consistency across large SKU sets and back-to-back shoot days without losing focus. Strong understanding of how photography serves downstream use — what post-production needs in a clean handoff, how assets will be used by designers, and what different channel formats require. Takes creative direction well and executes it with precision; brings a strong eye to the work without overriding the AD's vision. Reliable and organized: media is backed up, drives are properly labeled, and the technical side of the shoot never creates downstream problems. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Every shoot delivers selects that fulfill the brief — on style, on coverage, and on time — without requiring significant reshoot or additional production. Drive handoffs are clean and complete: post-production receives organized files with color-graded selects, ready to process without going back to the photographer. Lighting and styling are consistent across a full product collection, even across multi-day shoots and high SKU counts. Studio equipment is maintained and shoot-ready — no last-minute gear issues that affect production. Benefits: Medical, Dental and Vision Company Paid Life Insurance Flexible Spending Account 401(k) with a 6% match (4% vested immediately, remaining 2% vested over a four-year period) Generous Paid Time Off 8 Sick Days per year, with rollover (40 hours for the remainder of 2026) 12 Holidays, plus two Floating Holidays per year (one Floating Holiday for the remainder of 2026) Paid Parental Leave Hybrid Work Schedule Dog Friendly Workplace Tuition Assistance Program Adoption/Infertility Benefits Wellness Programs, including a Gym Subsidy Generous Product Discounts WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position splits time between office and creative work, in-studio productions, and offsite shoot locations. The role involves regular use of standard office equipment as well as active on-set environments. Physical demands include: Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use during planning, review, and administrative work Extended periods of standing and walking during shoot days Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and assist with light production tasks as needed Occasional travel required for offsite productions Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, with shoot days that may begin early or run late as production requires. $80,000 to $100,000, DOE #LI-TP1
