About Southern Standard Nannies
Southern Standard Nannies is Nashville's most trusted boutique nanny agency. We build placements that last, not just placements that close. That distinction matters more here than almost anywhere else you could work.
*Please note: there is a special instruction under “To Apply”*
A note on this opening
We've opened this role because our Nashville market is expanding. We're taking on more and more incredible clients and want to continue offering the same high level of service and support our agency has become known for. We are being exactly as selective about who fills this role as we are about who we place with our families.
This isn't a role to grow into carefully over your first year. We need someone who can walk into it with the composure and confidence this client base requires from day one.
A note before you apply
Candidly, I can tell when a cover letter was run through an AI tool in order to hook my attention. I'm not against people using AI as a tool in their actual work (with bumper guards), but when it comes to telling me who you are and why this role matters to you, I want to hear your voice, not a polished version of nobody in particular.
So here's what I'm asking. Don't send me a paragraph engineered to catch my attention. Send me a few honest sentences about what you actually believe about this work, what kind of impact you want to have, and how you want to show up day to day. It doesn't need to take you an hour. It needs to be true.
The last person I hired into a role like this wrote me something that told me exactly who she was before we ever spoke. That's what I'm hoping for again.
Position Overview
This role co-manages a docket of active searches for our Nashville families. It's client-facing, detail-heavy, and emotionally demanding in ways that don't show up on paper. Parenting is one of the most personal things a person will ever navigate, and families come to us in the middle of that. You'll be trusted with real vulnerability. You'll also be trusted with real systems, real documentation, and real follow-through.
You will not be doing this alone. You'll have dedicated administrative support built into the role, someone handling the behind-the-scenes tasks so that your time and energy stay exactly where they should be: warm communication, timely responses, and making sure every family we work with feels held and seen from the first call to the last signature. Your job is the relationship. The paperwork is covered.
This is also a growth role. The people who do this well earn a bigger docket and more senior client relationships over time.
I hold this role to a high bar because, frankly, our clients hold us to one. I expect availability, warmth, kindness and the ability to get to the point quickly– because our families' time matters and we’re here to give that back to them. I’m looking for intentionality in every search, so that when you bring a family their match, it's the right one, not just an available one. It’s not about the quantity of interviews a family is taking on– it’s about how many of those individuals are a PERFECT fit for them. This is a role I'm deeply particular about, because whoever holds it becomes the face of Southern Standard Nannies to the families who trust me (and us) most.

Send your resume and a few honest sentences (not a polished pitch) about what steady, intentional client work means to you and what you want your impact to look like, to
In your subject line, tell us one word your closest friend would use to describe you when you're stressed.
Please note: while your application stays confidential throughout the interview process, any offer is contingent on a reference from your most recent employer. This is non-negotiable. Please take this into consideration when applying, especially if you’re currently working for an agency in the household staffing space. Our CEO is connected in the industry– and she’ll want to speak with your employer. In full transparency, we’ve had candidates apply in the past who work for other agencies and they have high anxiety about the reference checks that will be performed because this is a highly personal industry of close knit teams. Please trust we understand that and will do our best to work with you on making you comfortable throughout the process. We’re overcommunicators- and we can be trusted to discern between a highly emotional reference and the truth of the job performance.
