Company: Gemco Rail Pty Ltd Job Function: Operations Employment Type: Permanent Full Time About the Role Gemco Rail is seeking a Planner to join our team at our Dynon site on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in keeping rail operations running safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Working closely with our Operations and Maintenance teams, you will coordinate maintenance activities, manage fleet requirements, and support the delivery of customer commitments across a dynamic rail maintenance environment. Based at our Dynon Maintenance Facility, you will be responsible for developing practical work plans, monitoring maintenance and project activities, providing schedule updates, and ensuring resources are aligned to operational priorities. You will also act as a key liaison for customer fleet requirements, helping to maintain strong relationships and deliver exceptional service outcomes. If you are an organised and proactive planner who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing rail business and make a genuine impact. This role will report to Service Manager, Dynon Key Responsibilities: Support safe work delivery by identifying planning risks, constraints, and resource requirements. Develop and maintain short- and medium-term maintenance plans, including 4-week plans and rolling forecasts. Coordinate closely with Operations, Scheduling, and customers to ensure maintenance activities are planned and delivered effectively.Monitor schedule performance, plan adherence, work progress, and workshop capacity, escalating issues where required.Ensure planning readiness by confirming parts, tooling, permits, labour, and access requirements are in place. Provide regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders on work status, priorities, and schedule changes. Maintain accurate planning, Work in Progress, and reporting information through SAP and customer systems.Support fleet availability and customer commitments by tracking critical spares, maintenance requirements, and operational constraints. Assist with quotations, estimates, and project planning by providing labour, scheduling, and resource input. Drive continuous improvement by identifying planning efficiencies and supporting resolution of customer and operational issues. About You Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Demonstrated ability in project management processes and systems Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks to changing workloads Effective communication and report writing skills Excellent customer service skills Relevant qualification in project management or other equivalent Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems Demonstrated use of Microsoft Office programs Strong Technical and Rail Industry Knowledge and experience About Us Gemco Rail, a subsidiary of Engenco Limited is the leading independent provider of rollingstock maintenance, products and services to the Australian and New Zealand rail markets.
