Platform Engineer (Big Data) at BairesDev

As a Platform Engineer (Big Data), you will build and operate large-scale data platforms that serve as the foundation for complex analytics and processing workloads. You will act as a link between raw infrastructure and data applications, ensuring that distributed systems remain performant, secure, and reliable at an enterprise scale.

What You'll Do

• Architect and maintain production-grade big data environments using the Apache Hadoop ecosystem and associated tools.
• Optimize the internal performance of Spark and Kafka components to handle high-throughput and low-latency data streams.
• Manage and scale distributed storage and processing engines such as HBase, NiFi, and Ozone.
• Perform deep Linux system administration and tuning to ensure the stability of the underlying data infrastructure.
• Implement observability and monitoring standards to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in distributed data systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define platform standards and streamline the deployment of data-driven applications.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Big Data Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• Proven expertise in building and operating large-scale big data platforms using the Apache Hadoop ecosystem.
• Proficiency in Java or Scala for developing and optimizing Spark and Kafka applications.
• Hands-on experience with big data components including HBase, NiFi, and Ozone.
• Strong background in Linux administration and performance tuning for distributed data systems.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
