Alpine Business Consulting is a team of specialists who step in when enterprise performance management and reporting systems fail to deliver. Many companies invest heavily in complex planning tools only to find that the implementation was rushed, leaving finance teams with data that does not match and month-end closes that take far too long. We fix these systems by focusing on proper configuration and building a single source of truth that organizations can actually rely on. Our consultants bring real-world experience to every project, ensuring that we do not use client engagements as a training ground for junior staff.
Currently, our partner is a major logistics provider that requires a significant overhaul of their reporting structures. They need a system that offers predictability and clean data across their global operations. We are adding a PMO Intern to our team to help manage the moving parts of this engagement. This is a fully remote role, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive while learning from a team that values documentation and transparency over corporate fluff.
The role
As a PMO Intern, you will be the administrative backbone of our consulting projects. This position is not about high-level theory: it is about the practical work of keeping a project organized and on schedule. You will support our senior consultants by managing the project management office (PMO) functions, ensuring that every milestone is tracked and every document is where it needs to be. Because we operate on a fixed-price model, accuracy in tracking progress is essential to our business.
You will be immersed in the world of enterprise consulting, seeing firsthand how complex systems like Oracle EPM or SAP BPC are configured and handed over to clients. This is an entry-level position designed for someone who is organized, disciplined, and curious about how large-scale business transformations are managed from the inside.
What you will be doing - Update and maintain project schedules to ensure all deadlines for the logistics provider engagement are met.
- Attend project meetings and record clear, actionable notes that capture decisions and outstanding tasks.
- Track the progress of project deliverables and follow up with consultants on pending items.
- Assist in the creation of configuration guides and handover documentation that clients will use to remain independent.
- Monitor resource allocation to ensure the team is working efficiently within the agreed project scope.
- Help prepare weekly status reports that provide a transparent view of project health to both internal and client stakeholders.
- Support the maintenance of the project repository, ensuring all files and version histories are correctly organized.
- Gather data for project audits to ensure we are meeting our internal standards for quality and documentation.
What we are looking for - A current student or recent graduate in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple tasks without losing sight of the details.
- Basic familiarity with spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Clear and concise writing skills, specifically for creating professional documentation and reports.
- A professional attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with senior-level consultants in a remote environment.
- A willingness to learn our specific approach to project management, which prioritizes predictability and fixed-price delivery.
- An interest in how enterprise data systems function and how they support large organizations.
- Reliability and the discipline to manage your own time effectively in a fully remote setting.
What the role offers
This internship provides a direct look into the world of specialized business consulting. You will work alongside senior experts who have seen every implementation mistake in the book and are dedicated to doing things the right way. We offer a working environment that values honesty and directness. You will not be tasked with busy work: everything you do will contribute to the successful delivery of a system that a major logistics provider will use every day.
The position is fully remote, giving you the flexibility to work from your preferred location. We believe in providing fair compensation for the work our interns perform, and this position is paid at a rate that is competitive for the role and the current market. You will finish this internship with a solid understanding of project management frameworks and the practicalities of high-stakes enterprise implementations.
Alpine Business Consulting focuses on results that last. We do not just build a dashboard and leave: we provide the training and configuration guides needed for a client to own their system. By supporting our PMO, you play a vital part in ensuring that our handovers are smooth and our clients are set up for long-term success.
